Here's the truth short and sweet: We thank God for you! We are so grateful for you! Today Brandon delivers a shorter message so we can take time to celebrate how God is at work in our church and what we are grateful for!

Is it possible to be generous if you are obeying a command? True generosity is volitional: a choice we make, an exercise of our free will. But obeying a command? That feels like somebody forcing their will upon us, or an obligation. Paul said “it is for freedom that Christ set us free.” Yet, Jesus, and Paul, both provide commands to be generous. And if Christians believe in an all-powerful God that can do anything, including raising people from the dead…and if Jesus could do all sorts of miracles, including making coins appear in the mouth of a fish…then why does Jesus and his apostles not just advise us, but command us, to give ourselves and our money? Those are fair questions! Let's explore them today in this message!

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been on a journey of what God has NEXT for us here at Mountain View, and we couldn’t be more excited for the months and weeks ahead! As we wrap up this series, we want to invite you to link arms with us in the vision God has for us. This week, we are exploring the practicals of what this looks like for each of us!

These last couple of weeks have been amazing to see how God is bringing such unity around what He is doing in and through our church! We’ve looked at who we are as a spiritual community and what it looks like to grow more and more like Jesus. Today, we are going to dive deep to see what God is calling us to as we continue to look at what He has NEXT for us!

What an incredible response to the kickoff of our BRAND NEW Series “Next!” We’ve been so encouraged to hear how God is moving in new and fresh ways here at MVC. Pastor Brandon Reed kicks off our new series. This is the series that begins the conversation around what is next at Mountain View. Another way this is asked is, “What is changing at Mountain View” SPOILER ALERT: What is changing? Not a lot…and everything. This is a new season at Mountain View. God has done amazing things and He will continue to do great things! And we are trusting Him for what is coming in these days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

Through this series we have been exploring what it looks like to do life together in community. Over the past weeks we have seen the beauty of God’s design. We’ve seen inescapable truth that it is in relationship with God and each other that we grow to look more like Jesus. This week we will be looking at the beautiful, supernatural way God moves and transforms us through one another. Each of us is a unique expression of God’s image, and our unique gifts and perspectives are vitally important for us to be transformed into the image of Jesus. Your presence matters!

Doing life with others in community is the way God has designed us to live. We were never meant to do life on our own. And we believe that everybody needs somebody in their life to do life with! Our hope in these coming weeks and through our series is that you’d get connected into the community of Mountain View through one of the many small groups already going, or by connecting in one of our new micro community On Campus Small Groups. We were meant to live life together, with others! And there are certain things we just can’t do on our own.
