The word witness is another key word in the Gospel of John (hour, marvel,). Witness is used 47 times. Jesus spoke candidly with them already, but He knew they would not accept what He told them. Now, Jesus uses their legal system to make another point and calls in three other witnesses. The legal system only required two, but Jesus is going to give us three.

We want justice, but not a judge. We want the rule of righteousness, but we don’t want a righteous ruler.

The way up is down. The way to reign is to submit. The way to power is to serve. The way to happiness is to not seek your own happiness, instead the happiness of others. The way to exaltation is by humbling. The way to find your life is to lose it. This is the most practical, yet, most unpopular of Jesus’ teaching about the Christian life. It flies in the face of every self-help book and seminar ever.

Pastor Tom continues in the book of John. It's Easter! We are reminded that 'by His stripes, we are healed. That being the case, we are to pick up our mats and walk.
