The disciple Thomas has been given the nickname 'Doubting Thomas' throughout church history, but is this a fair nickname for him to be stuck with? Faith is often charged with being devoid of reason, but is this actually a fair charge? Was Thomas doubting or was he looking for reason to strengthen the hope of faith? Based on John 20:24-29

Jesus tells his disciples 'As the Father sent me, even so I am sending you.' Today we consider the events around this commissioning and what being commissioned by Jesus involves based on John 20:19-23.

Every Fathers day we take time out from our current series to talk directly to the men of our church. This year, we look at 1 Samuel 1, the same story we unpacked with the women on Mother's day and look at some principles from Elkanah's life.

This week we continue our series through the Gospel of John with a look at John 17, the High Priestly Prayer.

Jesus is the 'true vine' and we must be connected to him in order to bear good fruit. 

Every year on Mother's day we take time out from our current series to speak directly to women in our recurring series called 'One for the Women'. In 'One for the Women 2020' we look at 1 Samuel 1, the story of the birth of Samuel from the perspective of the two women in the story, Peninnah and Hannah and we discover both are examples to us, but Hannah is the better example.

As we continue our serie through the gospel of John, we do a study of the role of the Holy Spirit as taught by Jesus in John 14, 15 and 16. 

Jesus told his followers 'If you love me, you will keep my commandments.' (John 14:15). This week we look at what this means and what the overflow is of a life that faithfully keeps the Lord's commands.

Followers of Christ are called to Love One Another in a way that makes the world know the Gospel of Jesus is true. 

Jesus said those who believe in him will do the works he did, as well as greater works. He also told his followers, whatever we ask in his name, he will do. The problem is, there tends to be a gap between our experience and jesus' assertions. In this sermon on John 14:10-15 we address the reasons for this gap and what is required to do these 'greater works.'
