  • Episode 160 - Getting to Vision - Clarifying the Blur

You've heard of vision statements and have probably created a few dozen for yourself, your team, and your organization.

It's often a lengthy process trying to figure out something that doesn't exist, but that you want to make happen.

I'm exploring this topic a bit more in life and work right now. Why do some visions become a reality? What is stopping others of us from transferring the vision into real life? What is the missing step?

There are a few steps to think about as you create the vision of what you want next. It requires stepping outside of the comfort of planning around existing resources at your disposal. Allowing yourself to let go of whatever personal thinking constraints keep you nailed down to existing realities.

It may require you to learn what "dreaming" means again.

I'm experimenting with all the approaches of vision creation and share some initial thoughts in this episode.

  • Episode 159 - Failing at Failing

From the first baby steps to the most satisfying achievement, failure crops up as a necessary obstacle to work through in personal development.

But, all failure is not created equal.

How can you know the difference?

Some failure leads toward the desired outcome. Some does not.

I've had a tremendous number of failures in my life. I share a few in this episode as I discuss typical types of failure.

Some failures are failures to try.

Some failures are failing forward toward the goal.

Deciding to be aware of which is which in the process is an important step between endless rumination or the formation of wisdom.

You decide. And, then take the next step.

  • Episode 158 - Final Nudges

This past month or more, I've been surrounded by conversations related to dying and death.

My grandfather past away just shy of reaching his 101st birthday. Other friends, and extended family members, have passed on as well.

For me, this sends me into further reflection about their life, about mine, and what next.

In the process of remembering, I was reminded of the final nudges that I've felt before loved ones pass away. The promptings from a Higher Power, a friend, a book, a movie, or an observation. Sometimes I act on these end of life nudges, and sometimes I don't. Regret and self-judgement sets in during these moments. What if I had contacted them?

In this episode I share a few final nudges that I've had in relation to all of my grandparents. And, encourage you to follow the nudges that come to your heart and mind.

It can matter for those you contact. But, it also matters for you.

  • Episode 157 - Lessons Learned from the Conversations

"One good conversation can shift the direction of change forever."

    - Linda Lam -

In December 2021, I got a nudge. Not from a person, but from an inner inkling.

I followed it and asked who would like to be interviewed on the podcast. It's not the first time that I've interviewed family, friends, and new acquaintances. But, more often I speak by myself into the microphone.

From my request, over twenty people reached out and scheduled appointments. Others said that they would be ready sometime soon.

On January 24th I sat down and recorded this episode to share some of the trends and lessons learned I extracted from the experience of conducting over 15 interviews in a little over a month.

I hope you take time to listen to this episode and then go listen to one or two of the conversations. I've listened to some of them several times as I edited, extracted nuggets of wisdom, and delivered them in both podcast and YouTube formats.

I'm so grateful to introduce these humans to you. They are amazing!

  • Episode 154 - The Power of Relationships - Dr. George Goodwin
