Welcome to Season 2 of Move Your Heart!
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19.
I’ve been given this verse for our new season, and that thrills my heart, because I believe God will cause His abundant Life to spring out from the broadcast.
As you take the encouragement into your own life, you will find yourself journeying with the God of the Universe. He genuinely wants to live life with you—through life’s wilderness, deserts, valleys, and mountaintop experiences.
I’m so thrilled to journey with you, and I can’t wait to see what God does in this new season of the Move Your Heart podcast. May God bless you richly. Amen.
Your host,
Val Brown
Endings, Beginnings, and Choices. Why is it so important to consider endings and beginnings and choices?
Because Choices become the life we live. And that's a really big deal.
In this episode, we talk about good endings that create rewarding beginnings, and other endings that come without asking permission; those experiences that come from other people's harmful choices.
We ask:
"God is all about giving us abundant life and He does give us the power to choose."
"Making sure our choices line up with the word of God is so very important."
Don't leave God out of the equation. Ask Him:
When we're pursuing works that God prepared for us to walk in, those are things that will make our hearts sing. That's where we find our fulfillment.
In this episode, Val Brown interviews author Barbara Isaac Croce about her book 'A Journey into Hope: An Interactive Journal for Women.' They discuss the importance of processing thoughts and emotions and training the heart to look at life from a "Hope in God" perspective.
Barbara shares the Biblical pattern for training the soul found in Psalm 42:11. The Psalmist acknowledges the current state of his soul--despairing and disturbed--then he directs his heart to God, to trust in Him, and to worship Him as his Help, his God to whom he can run.
Friends, Hope that originates within a loving relationship with God transcends our circumstances! In Him, we can find Hope; i.e., a legitimate expectation of good.
Indeed, He is the God of Hope, who wants to meet us right where we find ourselves.
“If you just open your heart a tiny bit, He’s going to rush in like a river.” Barbara
In this conversation, Barbara gives personal instances of when she's reframed her life's challenges and found Hope that sustained her. In these challenges, she's learned the importance of trusting God and worshiping Him; furthermore, she's found true riches in great loss.

Takeaways from the broadcast:
*Processing emotions and finding hope in God's Word is essential for living well.
*Hope is not dependent on circumstances, but on our relationship with God.
*Leaning into pain and yielding to God's discipline can lead to growth and transformation.
Training our hearts to look at life through a hopeful perspective is a lifelong journey. Hope is a choice that we can make while in difficult circumstances.
Discovering peace and finding true riches can be a part of the journey through challenging times.

Is God a narcissist? Jesus said, "You shall worship the Lord our God, and serve Him only." It is for OUR GOOD that we love Him with all of our heart, with all of our soul, and with all of our might.
In His hour of temptation, Jesus Himself declared to the tempter: "You shall worship the Lord our God, and serve Him only."
Throughout the Word of God, we are taught to humble ourselves before the LORD and to give Him the worship due His Name.
In this episode, we have convincing proof that worshiping God is a safeguard to keep us from deception, enslavement, harm, and even eternal death.
Beyond the negatives He keeps us from, recognizing God for who He is and what He has done in Jesus opens up a relationship with Him that provides for us in our present and secures a forever home with Him.
What a blessing it is that God jealously desires that our eyes and hearts be on Him, and a true blessing that His great love pursues us.
Let us humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and love Him with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength!

In this world, we have mental, emotional, and physical suffering; grief, disappointments, trauma, lack, relational difficulties, and more. Trouble and tribulation are common happenings to all.
Jesus thinks so. Knowing our life condition and our human frailty, Jesus tells us that we CAN have peace that CONSUMES our troubles.
Your heart may be screaming, "Jesus! How can I have peace in THIS situation?"
In this conversation with my guest, Cindy Lou Rummel, the author of her new devotional, "Sereni-Tea, Finding God's Peace in a World of Chaos," you will learn how to find Peace in the most difficult circumstances.
"We can only have true peace on this side of heaven through Jesus Christ." Cindy

Sometimes our difficult circumstances prompt questions, such as, God, if You love me, why did You let this happen to me? Where are You? Don't You care?
These questions reveal a soul with hurts and suffering; this heart, God will NEVER turn away.
The heart of God for us in suffering is that we would find Him as very present help in our time of need, our Comforter in our suffering. Bad things happening to us are not an indicator that He doesn't care or that He doesn't love us.
Hear this: "God is always good, even when our circumstances aren't good. And His love for us never ceases."
In this episode, we take a look at a family whom Jesus loved with all of His heart, Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. In John 11:1-45, we see the birth and endurance of their friendship in the face of the intense emotional struggles of the friends, including Jesus Himself, and those who surrounded the family in their loss.

God jealously desires to spend time with us, and He's opened up the way for us to come to Him through the work of His Son, Jesus.
Sadly, our misunderstandings and even Life itself can hinder us from accessing the joy of His presence.
Thankfully, we can break through those hindrances to enjoy a vibrant and intimate relationship with Him.

Do you have an impossible circumstance in your life? I do.
When we lift up our eyes to God and see Him, our circumstances become small in His presence. Seeing Him, we feel safe and welcome to pour out our hearts before Him.
Before Him, we are positioned for His miraculous to come to us; the God who sees us and hears us longs to meet us at the point of our need.
In this episode, we discuss Matthew 14:1-21. Herein, we find Jesus with His 12 disciples, teaching a hungry crowd of about 5,000 men and a multitude of women and children.
The disciples told Jesus, we can't feed them; send them away. Jesus, replied, you give them something to eat! The disciples found a little boy with five loaves of bread and two fish.
Jesus received that little portion of food, lifted up His eyes to God in Heaven, blessed the food, and then handed portions to the disciples. Each one took their little and miraculously fed the multitude. When all had eaten and were satisfied, they picked up 12 full baskets of leftovers!
We, like those first disciples of Jesus, are called to live from the miraculous supply from Heaven; we and those around us NEED the God of the miraculous.
Hear how lifting up your eyes positions you for the miraculous.
