  • True Wisdom Comes From God
There are two types of wisdom: wisdom of the world and the wisdom that comes from God. Both challenge us to consider what our choices, ambitions, relationships, and reactions reveal about what truly guides us.
In this episode, we explore what it means to live with Godly wisdom (honor) rather than worldly wisdom (jealousy, selfish ambition, and pride). James gives us a practical picture of godly wisdom: it is pure, peace-loving, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, productive in good deeds, free from favoritism, and sincere.
But these qualities aren't simply a checklist for becoming a better person. They're the fruit of a life being shaped by Christ. We'll explore the difference between selfish ambition and righteous ambition, why biblical gentleness isn't weakness, what it means to actively make peace rather than simply avoid conflict, and how receiving God's mercy changes the way we extend mercy to others.
Ultimately, we are challenged to stop asking whether we say we follow Jesus and instead consider whether our lives are demonstrating it. Faith is proven by living honorably and wisely as we follow Christ. The question is: What step do you need to take on that path today? www.movementcolumbus.com

  • Faith That Speaks Wisely
What do your words reveal about your heart?
In this episode, we continue our journey through the book of James with a challenging look at something small enough to fit behind our teeth but powerful enough to shape the direction of our lives: the tongue. James reminds us that our words are never “just words.” They can steer relationships, build trust, create division, bring healing, or cause wounds that last for years.
We begin by exploring James’ warning to those who teach and the responsibility that comes with influencing others. From there, James uses vivid pictures—a horse’s bit, a ship’s rudder, and a spark that ignites a forest—to show how something seemingly small can have an enormous impact. But the conversation goes deeper than simply learning to speak more carefully. James ultimately points us toward the heart. Our words reveal what is already taking root within us. Like water flowing from a spring or fruit growing from a tree, what comes out of our mouths exposes something about who we are becoming and what—or who—is ruling our hearts. Ultimately, the question isn’t simply, “Am I controlling my tongue?” It’s “Who has my heart?” Because when Jesus controls your heart, your tongue will increasingly reflect His character. www.movementcolumbus.com

  • Stand Your Ground
In James 2:14-26, we are reminded that faith transforms the way we live. In this episode, we explore the difference between believing facts about Jesus and truly entrusting our lives to Him. Through biblical examples, relatable illustrations, and practical application, we'll discover why good works don't earn our salvation but reveal a heart that has been changed by the gospel.
If your faith were put on trial, would there be enough evidence to convict you of following Jesus? Listen as we explore how real faith isn't measured by what we say we believe, but by the life that belief produces. www.movementcolumbus.com

  • Listening and Doing
As we continue our study through the book of James as we're challenged to examine the gap between hearing God's Word and living it out. James reminds us that genuine faith isn't measured by how much Scripture we know or how often we attend church—it's measured by what we do with what we've heard.
On this episode, we explore three practical movements that reshape the way we follow Jesus. First, we discover that our lives need a speed limit, learning the wisdom of being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Next, we see that our Bibles have a built-in mirror, revealing who we truly are and inviting us into lasting transformation through obedience. Finally, we unpack how our work clothes come with a job description—a faith that naturally overflows into compassionate action, self-control, and a life that reflects the heart of Christ.
As you listen, you'll be challenged to reflect on three simple but powerful questions: What is God trying to say that I've been too busy to hear? What has God already said that I still haven't obeyed? And who will experience God's love this week because I listened to Him? www.movementcolumbus.com

  • Faith and Endurance
The book of James challenges us to move beyond a faith that's only talked about on Sundays and discover what it means to follow Jesus in the realities of everyday life. James doesn't ignore the hardships, temptations, and struggles we all face—instead, he reveals how God uses them to shape our character, deepen our trust, and strengthen our faith.
In this episode, we explore why trials are not signs of God's absence but opportunities to grow in endurance and contentment. We unpack the wisdom James offers for navigating life's challenges, the danger of divided loyalty, and the hope found in God's unchanging character. We'll also examine where temptation really comes from, why sin must be confronted rather than excused, and how God faithfully provides a way to endure when we're tested.
Lastly, we'll discover practical ways to prepare for life's inevitable hardships, cultivate spiritual resilience, and keep our eyes fixed on Christ—the One who gives us strength when our own strength runs out. www.movementcolumbus.com

  • Love the Legacy
Explore Paul's powerful reminder in 1 Corinthians 10 that the Old Testament stories of God's people weren't simply recorded as history—they were given to teach, warn, and strengthen us today. Israel experienced God's miraculous provision and presence, yet many drifted into idolatry, compromise, and self-reliance. Their story reminds us that faith isn't just something we receive; it's something we're called to live.
In this episode, you’ll discover why loving the legacy of faith means embracing both its promises and its lessons. When we choose to build our lives on God's truth, that legacy gives back through wisdom in our decisions, clarity in confusing seasons, security in God's faithfulness, confidence to overcome temptation, and a deep peace that comes from living for His glory.
Whether you're navigating difficult decisions, seeking a stronger foundation for your faith, or hoping to leave a lasting impact on the next generation, this episode is an invitation to cherish the legacy God has entrusted to you. When you love the legacy of faith and faithfully live it, you'll find that it shapes your life just as much as it shapes those who come after you. www.movementcolumbus.com

  • Snapshots from the Life of Peter
In this episode, we take a journey through defining moments in the life of Peter—a disciple who witnessed miracles, walked closely with Jesus, boldly declared his faith… and still failed in one of his most important moments.
Through snapshots of Peter’s life—from denial and regret to restoration and Spirit-filled boldness—we explore a truth that challenges the pressure so many of us carry: you are not enough and you were never meant to be.
This conversation unpacks what the gospel means for people who feel exhausted, inadequate, disappointed in themselves, or stuck trying to prove their worth. You’ll discover why spiritual growth often begins when self-sufficiency ends and how creating space to slow down, listen, pray, and recognize God’s presence can reshape everyday life. www.movementcolumbus.com

  • The Whole Armor of God
What do you do when following Jesus feels harder than expected?
As we close out our journey through Ephesians, this episode explores one of the most powerful reminders in Scripture: the Christian life isn’t lived on neutral ground—it’s lived in the middle of a spiritual battle. And while many of us feel the tension between who God calls us to be and the reality of our everyday struggles, Paul’s final words shift our focus away from trying harder and back toward depending on God.
Together, we walk through each piece of spiritual armor and discover how truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, Scripture, and prayer become practical tools for everyday life—not as ways to earn God’s approval, but as reminders of what Christ has already accomplished.
If Ephesians has taught us anything, it’s this: the Christian life isn’t about what strong people can accomplish for God—it’s about what God’s grace can accomplish in surrendered people who keep coming back to Him. www.movementcolumbus.com

  • Spirit-Guided Relationships

What happens when faith moves beyond belief and begins shaping the relationships closest to us?

In this episode, we continue through Ephesians as Paul shifts from theology into everyday life—exploring how the Gospel transforms marriage, parenting, leadership, and life within the home. Through one of Scripture’s most discussed passages, we unpack God’s design for households and the way following Jesus influences how we love, serve, lead, and submit to one another.

Together, we explore the biblical picture of marriage as a reflection of Christ and the Church, the distinct responsibilities Paul gives to husbands and wives, and what it means to build a home marked by sacrificial love, trust, and unity. We also examine the role of parents in shaping their children’s faith and the broader call to live faithfully in every area of life.

If Jesus is King, what should kingdom living look like inside our homes? Join us as we explore how following Christ transforms marriages, strengthens families, and calls us to live faithfully in every season of life.
