Movie The Needle

We've reached double digits and we bring up the big 1-0 episode with a big 1-2 as Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci dominate our second film of our Scorsese trilogy, Casino!

We've got a couple of games to play along with this week as well as usual spurious nonsense.

One of us likes it, one of us not so much...let us know what you think.

We start a mini Scorsese trilogy this week by diving head first into the world of Boston organised crime with The Departed.

We've got a new game you can play along with at home, some top 3's plus the usual nonsense about cast, production and plot.

Here's a link to the poster we talk about

Carl and Simon discuss Spirited Away, their first animated and first non-English-language film on the show, alongside their favourite animations outside Disney and Pixar.

We tick two new boxes this week with our first animation and first non-english language movie - Spirited Away!

Does this make the 'Cast' section of the podcast challenging? Yes! Does it lead to a shorter episode? Hell no!

We talk baths vs showers, our top 3 non-Disney/Pixar animations plus other nonsense.

Carl and Simon discuss Star Wars from very different starting points: one is a long-time fan, while the other is seeing it for the first time in his late thirties.

I have a bad feeling about this.

This week, we see what happens when a Star Wars geek comes up against someone watching it for the first time in their late 30's.

Carl and Simon take on Francis Ford Coppola's 1979 film Apocalypse Now. They disagree about this acclaimed classic and ask whether either of them can move the other's needle.

I love the smell of a new podcast episode in the morning. This week, we tackle the universally acclaimed classic that is Apocalypse Now...but which one of us doesn't enjoy it? And most importantly was the needle mov(i)ed?

We're back!

Doubling our output with episode 2 where we take a shallow dive into Blood Diamond, starring Leonardo DiCaprio's accent.

We discuss the big issues the movie raises like - Just how do they get their hair to look so good in a war torn country?

One of us likes it, one of us doesn't - opinions can't be wrong, but one of us definitely is.
