STORM WARNING is a gritty 1951 crime drama. Ginger Rogers plays Marsha Mitchell, a model who stops at a small town to visit her sister, Lucy, and meet Lucy’s husband. Upon arriving, Marsha witnesses a Ku Klux Klan murder where two men remove their hoods. When Marsha meets Lucy’s husband, she recognizes him as one of the two men. He admits he was at the scene but says he didn’t shoot the victim and thought they were only going to scare the man, an undercover journalist. Burt Rainey, the county prosecutor played by Ronald Reagan, finds Marsha as a witness. However, Marsha doesn’t want to hurt her sister. Will she do the right thing?

FINDING ‘OHANA is a fun adventure movie streaming on Netflix about four young people looking for treasure in Hawaii. Pili and her brother go to Hawaii to help out their aging grandfather. While the whole family is together, memories and photos of their father keep showing up. Their father passed away years ago, and they still hold him dear to their hearts. When the party decides to increase prices but lower factory wages, the workers decide to strike, including Lyuda’s daughter. The party sends in armed troops. Crisis after crisis occurs, until the KGB-led soldiers brutally shoot many of the marchers. Lyuda is concerned because her daughter is missing. Will she continue to be committed to socialist lies?

SONGS OF SOLOMON is a powerful drama from Armenia. It’s about an orphaned Armenian Christian boy, Solomon Komitas, who grows up to be known as the savior of Armenian music and the founder and creator of ethno-musicology. The archbishop notices Solomon’s beautiful singing voice when he is an orphan, so Solomon attends seminary. Thirteen years later, in 1894, the Ottoman Turks call for the extermination of the Armenian Christians. Some of Solomon’s friends become victims of the genocide. Another genocide occurs in 1915. It envelops Solomon, who by then has become an archbishop himself.

NOMADLAND stars Frances McDormand. She plays Fern, a fiftysomething woman who goes on the road in a van after losing her job at a Nevada sheetrock plant. Fern heads to the Arizona desert to visit a van-dwelling community for retirees and similar people. Later, at a wildlife park, Fern runs into Dave, a man she knew at the sheetrock plant. Dave invites her to see his family. Fern agrees but visits her own family first. Fern still feels an urge to keep moving, but from what and where to, are the questions.

THE LAST SHIFT begins with Stanley, a sixtysomething white man working hard on the graveyard shift at a local fast-food restaurant called Oscar’s Chicken and Fish in Albion, Michigan. Meanwhile, Jevon, a young black man, meets with his parole officer about getting work. He says he’s planning to train at Oscar’s. Jevon needs the job to comply with his parole but also take care of his toddler son and appease his son’s mother. When Jevon shows up for training, the unlikely duo form a camaraderie that makes them think about where they are in their lives. Their differences eventually divide them, however.

LETTERS TO DANIEL is based on an autobiographical memoir. A young woman named Amy moves to Austin, Texas in 1999. She hopes to start production on a movie with her friend, Missy. Their finances are low, which leads to many struggles, including problems in their friendship. Making matters worse, Amy has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. Amy writes letters to British actor Daniel Craig about her struggles, which helps her cope them.
