Brooks, one of Tiffany’s replacement carpenters, seems like a perfect fit, but he and Tiffany could not be more different. Will they be able to work together?

WE CAN BE HEROES is a TV movie for families streaming on Netflix. During an alien invasion, all of America’s superheroes are defeated and captured. Now, it’s up to their children to stop the aliens. Using their super powers, the children steal an alien spaceship. They decide to fly to the alien mother ship to find a way to rescue their parents and save the world.

ASSASSINS is a fascinating, surprisingly exciting documentary about the assassination of the brother of the president and dictator of North Korea at the Malaysian airport in 2017. In the movie, a reporter investigates the case, talking to lawyers for the two young women accused of poisoning the brother with the lethal VX nerve agent. Video footage from the airport cameras clearly show the two women putting their hands on Nam’s face. The long but interesting court case results in a guilty verdict, but an incredible number of unexpected events occur, implicating Indonesia and Vietnam, not just North Korea.

THE BABY PROPOSAL is a romantic comedy on UPtv about two Chicago morning show hosts who clash over different working styles. Layla and Derrick are considered to host a popular network program. Tensions rise about who will get the job. As the two prepare for their career-changing opportunity, one of their biggest fans drops off her daughter’s baby after the baby’s mother dies. Derrick’s sister and her husband offer to adopt the baby, but they’re stuck at an airport. For one week, Layla and Derrick must work together to take care of the baby.

In the first episode of WANDAVISION on Disney+, Wanda and Vision, two Marvel superheroes, get married and try to settle in an old fashioned small town in America. Wanda and Vision don’t seem to know why they do what they do or where they are. They don’t pay it too much attention, though. They have other concerns on their plates. The pair see their wall calendar has a heart on it for today. Wanda thinks it might be their anniversary. However, at work, Vision finds out that his boss, Mr. Hart, is bringing his wife over for dinner.

Set 15 years into the future, OUTSIDE THE WIRE follows a military captain, Leo, and an Air Force drone pilot, Lieutenant Thomas Harp. After making a drone mistake, Harp is sent to Eastern Europe to help keep the peace during a civil war over Ukraine. Captain Leo reveals to Harp that he’s a classified android made by the United States government. This causes Harp to wonder how Leo’s technological makeup will impact the people they need to protect. Leo convinces Harp to destroy the chip the military uses to track him. At the time Harp doesn’t think much about it, until Leo goes rogue and civilians and the United States are put in danger.

THE FATHER stars Anthony Hopkins as a man falling into the extreme stages of dementia. His daughter, Anne, takes care of her father, Anthony, first in his apartment, then in the apartment where Anthony lives with her and her husband, Paul. Years and events are conflated. Also, Anthony forgets who people are and thinks people are lying to him. Slowly, Anthony’s dementia increases. His memories intrude on reality. Finally, in a gigantic care facility, the nurse and orderly turn out to be Anne and Paul. “What will become of me?” he asks.

“The Hunt” is one of our favorite TWILIGHT ZONE episodes. Character actor Arthur Hunnicutt stars as Hyder Simpson, a backwoods man who lives in a small Appalachian cabin with his wife of 50 years, Rachel. One evening after dinner, Hyder and his dog, Rip, go raccoon hunting. Hyder jumps into a stream to rescue Rip. However, the next morning he and Rip are invisible to everyone, including Rachel, who’s dressed in black. Hyder ends up walking Eternity Road, where he experiences of Heaven and Hell.

THE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS is a faith-based drama available on Amazon Prime. It opens on George and Denise preparing for Christmas. Both will face some unexpected challenges to their Christmas celebrations. George’s brother, Allen, a studio guitarist in Los Angeles, has promised to return to Kentucky. At the same time, George learns his friend, Don, is worried about his estranged daughter, Celia, who left for Los Angeles after a major argument. George fashions a plan for Allen to drive home and bring Celia with him. Meanwhile, George doesn’t get along with his in-laws, who are staying for the holidays. Eventually, people realize that forgiveness and trusting God will save their Christmas.

OUR FRIEND is a drama inspired by a true story. Dane Faucheux, a former theater tech operator, moves from New Orleans to Alabama to be with his friends, Nicole and Matt Teague, and their two daughters. In 2012, Nicole is diagnosed with cancer. Her diagnosis impacts the Teague family drastically, including Matt and Nicole’s two young daughters. Dane helps the family navigate this trying time with resolve and compassion, but that doesn’t always mean things are easy for everyone.
