Synopsis for our Thor Ragnarok Review 2017

After his adventures on earth, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has broken out of the prison of Surtur (voiced by Clancy Brown) (A giant being who wants to bring Ragnarok to Asgard and destroy his home). He returns to Asgard and upon his arrival he finds that his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has replaced Odin (Anthony Hopkins) as ruler of Asgard sending their father to a retirement home on earth. With the help of Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Loki and Thor locate their father back in his ancestral lands in Norway only to find he doesn't want to return to the throne and his time has passed. But he reveals to them that the next in line to the throne is their elder sister the goddess of death Hela (Cate Blanchett). As Odin whisps on the ancestral winds Hela’s banishment is broken and, after destroying meow meow, she dispatches her brothers to the planet Skaar and returns to Asgard to take her place on the throne. On Skaar, a war planet ruled by The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), Thor is forced to fight for his life in the arena. There he faces his toughest opponent a fully powered Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Hulk is happy on Skaar as the people of the land love their champion. Thor must convince Hulk, Loki and his capturer Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) to join with him and return to Asgard to take back their homeland from Hela. To achieve this they start an uprising against Grandmaster and battle their way back to Asgard and help Heimdall (Idris Elba) to free the inhabitants of their home. By convincing turncoat Asgardian Skurdge (Karl Urban) to join them and using Surtur to complete the prophecy of Ragnarok and destroy their homeland they achieve their goal. Leaving a destroyed Asgard on a ship carrying the remaining Asgardian, Thor takes his seat as the All Father of Asgard as they search for a new planet to call home.

Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and M.J. (Kirsten Dunst) seem to finally be on the right track in their complicated relationship, but trouble looms for the superhero and his lover. Harry Osborne (James Franco) is unable to forgive Peter after discovering that he is responsibility for his father's death as Spider-Man and takes on his father’s mantle of the Green Goblin. An extraterrestrial venom symbiote turns Peter's Spider-Man suit black and takes control of him, not only giving Peter enhanced power but also releasing the darker side of his personality. Peter must overcome the suit's influence as two super-villains, Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and Venom (Topher Grace), rise up to destroy him and all those he holds close.

Complicating matters are his best friend Harry Osborne (James Franco) hatred for Spider-Man and his true love's (Kirsten Dunst) sudden engagement to another man. Doc Ock obsessed with his work will do anything to continue his experiment and goes after Spider-Man for Osborn in exchange for a key component for his work.

Synopsis for our Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2 Movie Review

The Guardians are doing what they do best protecting the Galaxy as the leader of the Sovereign race, Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), asks them to save valuable batteries from an inter-dimensional monster. As payment for their services Gamora's (Zoe Saldana) estranged sister Nebula (Karen Gillan) and the bounty on her head are exchanged. However, always looking for extra profit Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) can’t resist to make an extra buck on the side and is caught stealing the batteries . The Sovereign attacks the Guardians' ship with a fleet of drones. As they try to escape the drones a mysterious figure comes to their rescue as the Guardians are forced to crash-land on a nearby planet. The figure reveals himself as Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) estranged father, Ego (Kurt Russell), who invites Quill, accompanied by Gamora and Drax (Dave Bautista), to his home, while Rocket and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) remain behind to repair the ship and guard Nebula. Meanwhile Yondu (Michael Rooker) and his team including his right hand man Kraglin (Sean Gunn) and the mutinous Taserface (Chris Sullivan) hunt down the team to recover the stolen property of the Sovereign race.
