As we start chapter 10, I share a bit of a long tangent with you guys the correct ‘gladness’ that Solomon and the Apostle Paul approves of “A wise son makes a father glad.” Then Solomon shows us the dangers of gaining riches through wickedness, and how it will not last, but hard work lasts. Got some great commentary for you guys as well, and a testimony about a conversation I had with some other believers this past weekend that bring similar thought to my conclusion I came to for verse 1.

As we close chapter 9 Solomon turns another rock looking at the cleverness of “woman folly” who teaches others but it not actually leading them to truth, so how do we try and learn the truth about different matters? I try my best to explain that to you guys. I go on another rant again of the cheap discipleship I hear believers say to Christian singles “Just be content” due to what we read here today. If you are a believer and you are being told that, please practice discernment on what you are being told, it’s aggravating to say the least when I hear that.

In chapter 9 Solomon starts to turn the corner giving us wisdom, to listen to wisdom, leave the company of fools and the simple, and not correct scoffers. Wisdom is displayed in these 4 verses as not just simply copying others good knowledge, but doing so with discernment, and deeper intentionality. I also share some thoughts on the fear of The Lord and a incredible testimony of how this book really had a huge positive effect on me years ago.

As we finish a long study of Proverbs chapter 8, we start off in verse 22 trying to detangle the heretical arguments some have brought forward by saying according to the Septuagint with verse 22, Christ was a created being. In part 2 through Proverb 8, wisdom is continuing to make her case that no matter who you are, those of high social status or not, heeding her words are important, just like wise Elihu, oh young wise Elihu among a bunch of older men, said “Wisdom does not [always] come with age.” (Job 32:8-9 AMP) Verse 17 “I love those who love me” uh what? God I thought you loved everyone, lets break that verse down and love God with all our minds by being critical thinkers (Matthew 22:37)
