After the record store clears out its indie punk section to make room for a café, Adam and Luke incur the ire of a particularly angry band while on a business trip to a farm upstate.

Adam is forced to look for a new place to live while preparing for a dinner meeting with City Economic Development Director Connie McManus. 

Adam goes to visit his mother's house in a posh, exurban town, and makes a discovery. 

As Adam considers whether or not to go and meet with his estranged mother, he inadvertently discovers a sinister conspiracy involving the mysterious coffee shops that keep springing up over town. 

As he prepares to bring the Concerned Ohioans Against Bothersome Bicycles movement to the Columbus City Council, Adam finally comes face to face with City Economic Director Connie McManus.

With the help of his co-worker Luke, Adam may have finally found a way of breaking into local politics. However, this excitement is slightly marred when he realizes that his mother has once again successfully hacked into his email account. 

Now staying with his brother, and after a failed attempt to re-write the state constitution of Ohio, Adam realizes that he must get a job. 

A sewage backup at the apartment and a phone call to his agent send Adam on a dark-night-of-the-soul walkabout. 

Hoping to make some quick money off an escaped zoo koala, Adam makes some dangerous acquaintances and learns a thing or two about responsibility.
