It's a new year and a new month here at MRAC. For January, Brian leads us in a deep dive into the films of Stanley Kubrick. In the first of 5 weeks, we look at an early film of Kubrick, The Killing (1956). Join us as we talk about our prior knowledge of Kubrick, followed by a lively discussion. There is also some talk of the supplemental film: Paths to Glory (1957).

BONUS EPISODE! Happy 2024 everyone. This is the time of year we review the past year of MRAC film club and hand out our personal awards based on what we've watched this year. DISCLAIMER: Since we have only recently started recording, most of the films discussed were based on films we watched prior to releasing episodes, most notably the films of Kurosawa and Werner Herzog. After a shaky start, we continue our deep dive into Orson Welles this month by discussing Chimes at Midnight (1965). Known also as "Falstaff," this film amalgamates several Shakespeare plays, focusing on the character Sir John Falstaff, played by Orson Welles himself. How was this film received by the crew?
