MsWeedwiki SPEAKS Podcast - An ongoing journey of education in cannabis. Normalizing cannabis. episodes

  • "I wanna heal myself with cannabis" a conversation about cannabis & professional sports with cannabis activist and musician Ras Cottreezy
In this episode I'm joined by cannabis musician and entrepreneur Ras Cottreezy.  Ras Cottreezy was a fascinating guest who provided us deep insights from his career in professional football (having played both NFL & arena football) as well as his life travels including stints living in cities like Montreal, Rochester NY, as well as his deep ties to our brothers and sisters in the indigenous communities of North America. His commitment to cannabis social equity and cannabis amnesty permeates our discussion and will leave you wanting to know more about the projects and organizations he’s passionate about such as the Buffalo Soldier Rastafari Coalition.
I’m particularly proud of our discussions about how likely the ability to use medical cannabis would have extended the careers of so many football players. We both agreed that cannabis can be a valuable harm reduction tool to help players manage some of their physical complaints as well as their mental health struggles such as anxiety and depression off the field better.  We also had to highlight the hypocrisy of the NFL refusing to entertain medical or adult use cannabis all while promoting alcohol and pharmaceutical products freely (often in areas where children are present and can see these ads), both of which have a history of significant harm to communities, just ask MADD. (But maybe do not ask MADD about cannabis education because that’s not their strong point either)
I hope you’ll enjoy this brand new episode of the MsWeedWiki SPEAKS Podcast as much as I did.  I highly recommend you follow Ras Cottreezy on Instagram at @cottreezy and @rastafari_coalition. Please be sure to also keep your eyes and ears out for the release of his newest single “Selassie Souljah” coming soon via the Buffalo Soldier Rastafari Coalition’s online platform.

  • "I mix my herb like I mix my tea" using cannabis with intention with cannabis advocate & wellness coach Will The_Puffin_Guru a from Chicago

In this episode I'm joined by holistic wellness coach and cannabis advocate Will the Puffin Guru of Chicago Illinois.  Will owns the cannabis wellness brand Grind n Grow Chicago which produces the amazing Inhale & Stretch series on Instagram.  In our discussion we touched on our first encounter when I was a guest last November on his Inhale & Stretch show and from there, delved into his journey with cannabis. As a longtime member of the  underground cannabis scene pre-legalization Will has curated a variety of cannabis events in Chicago and is passionate about teaching his followers the benefits of using cannabis with mindfulness and intention.

We discussed the impact of adult use cannabis legalization in Chicago which has been in effect for just over one calendar year by the time of this podcast release on both his cannabis practice and on the greater Black and brown communities of Chicago on a whole.  His passion for cannabis social equity will definitely resonate with our listeners. We also learned of his love for capoeira and the Brazilian series City of God.

  • "Quebec is PETTY" with Montreal's urban radio morning show host Wizzy Moonchaser - an honest discussion about cannabis access in Montreal.

This episode features the first Montreal urban radio show host to feature 8 weeks of giveaways on community radio Wizzy Moonchaser.  I first met Wizzy when I was a guest on his 85th episode of the Running With Wolves podcast.  (You can check that episode out at www.franklinarmstrong.com)

In this episode I'm interviewing Wizzy (for a refreshing change) as he shares his cannabis journey, his plans & goals for Running With Wolves podcast in 2021 as well as his opinions on the legal cannabis retail infrastructure in Quebec.  It probably only took a matter of minutes for me to end up scratching my head over the information collection practices & prices of the SQDC.  While it is possible that Quebec had some plans for cannabis legalization & retailer framework, the execution of same remains lacking.  The SQDC has yet to live up to its hopes of being "the Walmart of cannabis" in Quebec and long lineups outside of dispensaries are still a thing.

We also discussed the really important stuff, like Wizzy's favorite cultivars/strains, his favorite munchies (this MAY surprise you) and how he would love to be buried with an endless supply of Fanta or Hawaiian Punch - THC-infused I presume of course, to stay #onbrand.
