This is Part 1 of a four-part series on holistic discipleship β what it actually looks like for Jesus to be at home in every part of your life. Not just the parts you show people on Sunday.Guy and Kelli walk through what it means for Christ to be formed in us (Galatians 4:19), why discipleship is about way more than knowing the right things, and how to honestly assess where you are in the process, without shame, without guilt, without pretending.They also go through the four stages of emotional maturity:β Emotional infant β looks to others to meet every need without realizing itβ Emotional child β seems fine until things go sidewaysβ Emotional adolescent β knows how to act mature but struggles under pressureβ Emotional adult β secure, others-focused, nothing to proveYou might recognize yourself in one of those. Thatβs kind of the point.This series isnβt about self-improvement or getting your act together. Itβs about what happens when you actually let God into the rooms youβve been keeping closed.ποΈ Hosted by Guy & Kelli Caskey | The M4 Network & Caskey Collectiveπ Guyβs book: Making Him LORD https://a.co/d/03znfH7hπ More at m4network.comπ Subscribe so you catch all four parts of this series.π¬ Discussion question in the comments: Why do you think some people can know scripture really well but still be emotionally and relationally immature?π SHOW NOTES:*The Four Stages of Emotional Maturity:*π΄ Emotional Infant β Primarily looks to others to care for them. Struggles to understand and express emotions. Often seeks immediate gratification without realizing how their actions affect others.π‘ Emotional Child β Appears healthy when life is going well, but disappointment or conflict quickly exposes instability. Takes disagreement personally.π Emotional Adolescent β Knows how mature people are supposed to act but gets defensive under criticism. May withdraw, complain, or keep score in relationships.π’ Emotional Adult β Loves and respects others without needing to change or control them. Accepts responsibility for their own thoughts, emotions, and responses. Nothing to prove because they know they are deeply loved by Christ.*Discussion Questions:*1. Why is discipleship about more than Bible knowledge?2. What does maturity actually look like β and how do we measure it?3. Why do some believers know scripture but remain emotionally and relationally immature?4. How does Jesus restore every part of our lives β and what rooms have we kept closed to him?5. Have you had a grace awakening that has led to holistic change and transformation in your life?*Key Verses:*
* Galatians 4:19
* 1 Thessalonians 5:23β24
* 1 Corinthians 13:11
* 1 John 2:12β14
We're back after a summer break and jumping into something we've wanted to talk about for a while.
This is Part 1 of a four-part series on what it looks like for Jesus to actually be Lord of your whole life β your emotions, your relationships, your secret places, all of it. Not just the parts that look good from the outside.
Guy and Kelli talk about the difference between transformation and information, introduce the four stages of emotional maturity, and get honest about how hard it is to look in the mirror and see where you actually are β not where you think you are.
Grace accepts you where you are. Truth shows you where you are. And together, they move you somewhere better. That's what this series is about.

Welcome to Mud & Rib β the podcast about Love, Life & Leadership.In this episode, Kelli and Guy Caskey close out the Paul's Journeys series with one of their most practical conversations yet: why 66% of Christian leaders don't finish well β and the community-based model that actually changes that.They introduce Leadership Communities β monthly or bi-monthly gatherings of disciple-making leaders who read scripture together, hold each other accountable, and learn to problem-solve in real time. Not a program. Not a conference. A team.In this episode:-What a Leadership Community is and who it's for-The 66% statistic: why most leaders don't finish well (J. Robert Clinton)-Mirror reading: how to read Acts and the epistles together for the first time-Ministry Maps, Timothy Maps, Generation Maps β the coaching tools that help you see where you are-"Don't organize it until you have it to organize" β the most important rule they keep coming back to-The 80/20 principle for mature leadersThree closing principles: Don't lead alone. Don't grow alone. Don't sustain alone.
Only 1 in 3 Christian leaders finish well. Two thirds don't β and the numbers are getting worse.
In this episode, Guy and Kelli Caskey close out the Paul's Journeys series with a deeply practical conversation on why leaders fall off β and the community, based model that helps them stay. They introduce Leadership Communities: small, consistent gatherings of disciple-making leaders built around scripture discovery, accountability, and real-time problem solving.
They also walk through their progression of coaching maps (Ministry, Timothy, Generation), the practice of mirror reading Acts with the epistles, and three principles to live by: don't lead alone, don't grow alone, don't sustain alone.

Paul's fourth journey wasn't what anyone expected β he spent it in prison. And yet the letters he wrote from those chains (Philippians, Ephesians, Colossians) are considered the high watermark of his entire ministry.
In this final episode of our Paul's Journeys series, Kelli and Guy wrap up the series by talking about:

What does it look like when a movement of God stops being about one person, and becomes a team of teams? In Part 3 of Paul's Journeys, Guy and Kelli explore the convergence of leaders in Ephesus, how faithful men and women proved themselves locally before being sent translocally, and what it truly means to die to multiply.
From the Hall of Tyrannus to the seven churches of Revelation, this episode unpacks a leadership development process hiding in plain sight β one that challenges us to start where we are, burn for God in the mundane, and trust that depth always precedes breadth.
