Ok, so, how do you know what a story is actually about? That's our topic this week, and our focus is the unbelievably funny Don't Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro, the bullying to romantic comedy story. While we're going to talk a bit about the plot of the first four books, we're really talking about when you know it's a lovely, silly romantic comedy and not watching a young boy be emotionally dunked on for laughs. Meanwhile, in What We've Read, another of our favorites, with Shangri-La Frontier volumes 25 and 26, while Tom also finds some time for the newest Hero and the Sage Reincarnated and Engaged book 7 and Infinite Dendrogram book 17.

Then I've got unbad news for you, because we're talking about the first volume of Undead Unluck, a series that looks at reasonableness, laughs in it's face, then uses a volcano to get on a fighter jet to kill the pilot and steal the plane. Seriously, this is a series that starts with non-stop ridiculousness, and it's so much fun. Meanwhile, in What We've Read, Louie catches up on volume 24 and 25 of Shangri-La Frontier and Solo Leveling 4, while Tom finishes out Land of the Lustrous and has to show how good it is while explaining nothing whatsoever. What are the odds that you'll run into semi-supernatural people in your ordinary life? What, a researcher at a Japanese High School? Oh, then it's 400%. This week, we look at the comedic high school manga Interviews with Monster Girls, volume 1 by Petos, as high school biology teacher Tetsuo Takahashi meets four "demis" (demihumans): a vampire, a Dulluhan, a Yuki-Onna (snow woman), and a succubus. What follows is a light hearted school story of people trying to get through their ordinary, and extraordinary, lives, and Hikari the vampire being a goof.

Meanwhile, in What We've Read, Tom only gets to a game and a few books of the crystal series Land of the Lustrous, while Louie knocks out the end of The Shinji Ikari Raising Project and the first books of Sun Ken Rock.

Caught up on reading, Tom and Louie are back with a real review this week with the first two volumes of Teppu, the female amateur MMA manga. Natsuo goes on a journey to not be bored and crush the joyful spirit of "Giant Eyebrows" Yuzuko, who can actually kick the crap out of Natsuo. Tom takes the lead walking us through this fighting series and the interesting way the characters have been decided. Meanwhile, in a fortunately much shorter "What We've Read", Louie just watched some more of Reincarnated as a Slime's newest episodes, while Tom knocked out the second half of Fire Force and finished the recent Frontier Lord novel 14.

Continuing to catch up on things from our unintentionally extended break and some recording issues last time, we finish our reading extravaganza from the early summer. Tom digs into Dr. Stone, gets his imagination fired up by Fire Force, reconnects with the romantic comedy Get Married so I can Curse Your Firstborn and Finally be Free, and catches up on favorites Wash it All Away, Mission: Yozakura Family, and DanDaDan. Louie investigates his way through the Dresden Files, remembers the best part of the Re:Zero anime with the final episode of this part of the season, and solos another volume of Solo Leveling. All that and a whole lot more . . . except Teppu. That's next time. Really. This is Editing Tom saying this, I know what the next episode actually is, it's Teppu. This time, it's just a massive smorgasbord of different stories you should (and one maybe you shouldn't) check out.

Yeah, I don't have any good bicycle puns, but this episode we do take a look at the long running bicycle racing series Yowamushi Pedal, specifically the first volume in English (which covers two standard volumes, so vol 1 and 2 for those with access to Japanese sized volumes). Meanwhile, we have a sizeable What we've Read as well, with Louie watching most of DoroHeDoro's anime and more of Battle Angel Alita, while Tom reads the entire rest of Aposimz and gets distracted by psychic police officers with Super Psychic Policeman Chojo. We return this week with another reasonably named series, as Tom takes us through the first novel of Banished from the Hero's Party, a fairly generic seeming fantasy slow-life adventure at first that, as Tom really, really, reaaaaaally wants you to know, plays a lot with the idea of what would actually happen if people had these classes and skills and things. Meanwhile, Louie continues catching the new big anime, as well as the end of Black Clover and How to Treat a Lady Knight Right, while Tom starts into Knights of Sidonia and is thoroughly whelmed with it all.
