There are three types of people in regards to seeking knowledge of this religion. First, there is the person that seeks knowledge with understanding. He memorizes and he fully comprehends what he memorizes. When he goes back to the people, he is able to assist them in understanding the Quran and the Sunnah through his teaching. Second, there is the person that has a strong memory, but he is lacking in the understanding department. He is able to transmit the Hadith to the people, but he is not able to assist them in understanding the Hadith. This person is still a benefit to the Ummah because he is a transmitter of knowledge, and he might transmit the knowledge to a person that does understand. Lastly, there is the person that turns his back on knowledge. He does not seek knowledge nor is he concerned with seeking knowledge. He is perfectly happy being from the people of ignorance and living his life to fulfill his desires. Which one do you want to be from?

When we give dawah, we should give dawah in the same manner the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم gave dawah. The best guidance is the guidance of the Messenger of Allah, and we should learn how the Prophet gave dawah, so we can give dawah in the same manner. Do not let somebody come in 2021 and tell you anything else. Our religion is taken from the Quran and the Sunnah, and that includes how and what we give dawah to. Make your focus to learn your religion from the Quran and the Sunnah and not from the modern 2021 people that try to tell us what is beneficial and what is not.

From this Hadith, we learn what the greatest Surah in the Quran is. Of course, the greatest Surah is Al-Fatihah. If a person were to sit down and truly ponder over this Surah, he or she would understand why this is the greatest Surah in the Quran. Moreover, if this person were to ponder over this Surah year after year while seeking knowledge, he or she would never tire over pondering over this Surah and the knowledge that it contains.

From this Hadith, we understand that the only way we are going to retain what we have memorized from the Quran is through the constant revising of the Quran. If we get lazy with our revision of the Quran, it will leave us much like a camel will escape its owner if the ropes that bind it down become untied. We have to constantly revise the Quran and read the Quran day in and day out. This should be our top priority above all the other priorities in our lives. The Quran is the speech of Allah, and there is no speech on this earth that deserves more attention than the speech of Allah.

From this Hadith, we understand who the best among us are. The best among us are those that learn the Quran and teach the Quran. For a person to truly understand this, he would have to ponder deeply over the meaning of this Hadith. The one thing that you need to know is that we cannot truly learn the Quran without learning the Sunnah. The Sunnah explains the Quran, so without knowledge of the Sunnah, a person would not actually have learned the Quran. Therefore, in reality, the best from among us are those that learn the Quran and the Sunnah because they have to be learned together for a person to understand them both.

The affairs of the believers are truly amazing, and that is because the believers are firm whether they are in times of ease or in times of hardship.
