We live in a world where it's easy to mimic your competitor. The tools and the tactics in most businesses are adaptations of age-old practices. The only thing that differentiates you from the competitor is your ability to tell stories. Tell them well and you win. Tell them poorly and you become mediocre.

Without trust; you have nothing. My gut tells me that a leader that runs off into the distance without people running ahead, around and beside is only going to run off a cliff.

It's no secret that the real estate space is ripe for disruption. The tide of technology is quickly rising, and unfortunately, it will not lift all boats. Those who bury their heads in the sand, or don't take the time to invest in infrastructure will miss out on the opportunities.

Now is the time to plan for the future. As many of us recall, the financial crash in 2007/8 was devastating to many people across the real estate space. And, something similar will occur again. It could happen in the next eighteen to thirty-six months. It could be sooner; it might be later. No one knows. But, we all know it will happen. 

In this episode, I suggest that now is the time to get yourself ready for the next downturn.

Take time to spend on educating yourself. Leave room for reflection. Seek feedback. And, do the work.
