This is part 2 of Healing and Education. This time, we switch gears to trauma, trauma informed care, and connecting to others. Literacy I’d foundational to these skills. Also, knowing that it is imperative to acknowledge Black and Brown children’s experiences and knowing them as humans with experiences and thoughts outside of the adults in their lives.

I thought of the metaverse in education before it was a thing! Cut the check, no but I’m joke. Jaja, don’t sue me. I talk about the importance of technology to be incorporated into our educational system. The future of technology in the classroom through my perspective and how virtual reality can bring the world into the classroom in ways that STEAM teachers and students need.

I clearly have a lot to say about this. It’s 40 minutes! (I know I said 15-20 minutes tops but hopefully I’m at least entertaining) I’ll circle back to this topic later on. There is so much to unpack here. This one talks about social and emotional learning and how we must keep the humanness of education in the classroom. I also talk about my own journey and the importance of mentally taking care of ourselves. Tune in!
