Iberia, América y otros mundos

Iberia, America and other worlds

We bring you a new episode full of new releases that brings us sounds that connect Portugal with the rest of Iberia and with oriental inspirations. We leap across the pond to Brazil and then to the Los Angeles neighborhoods with deep Mexican roots, to then return to Spain in search of original and experimental sounds of the eighties. We enjoy Latin American sounds manufactured in Madrid to jump back to America in search of the indigenous chants of the Kagaba people.

Pirueta africana

African pirouette

We travel through the many possible Africas thanks to some new releases. Departing from the remote Rodrigues Island and continuing southwards in South Africa, we make a leap towards Mali, listening to its artists alone and in Afro-Caribbean and European combinations. After another jump we join the dances of the East African Maasai and with them we gain momentum and appear in California to trace there roots from Ivory Coast, continuing with a hop that connects Afro-Colombian roots again with Mali. The last pirouette leaves us to North Africa, exploring some fertile connections.
