God the Father has lovingly and purposefully created all things.  To know Him is to know who we really are and our purpose meaning and value.  Therefore, to live apart from Him is to live in a dysfunctional state, and to live with Him is to live a normal functional and beautiful life.

This week we’re talking about God the Father of the family. We discuss how God has always been Father, Satan the father of all lies, God the Father of the family and God’s ultimate plan for our Family under his kingship. 

Jesus is the unique true Son of the Father.  He reflects the Father perfectly and is the radiance of God's glory.  Our sin means that we deliberately reject the Father and the only reason and way we are restored is through the loving plan of the Father.

The first week in the series called I love the Father.  Derek speaks about our deep need to know the Father, and to rest in Him, and also the way the human fatherhood falls far short of God's fatherhood.

Jesus heals and cleanses a leper showing us the way that God cleanses and restores us all from the dirt, guilt, shame, regrets, and sinfulness that we struggle with.

As Jesus comes to the end of the Sermon on the Mount He presents two gates, two types of fruit, two types of disciple and two builders. 

Jesus tells us not to judge others and that we can ask the Father for our needs.

Hebrews 6 tells us that through Jesus our soul is anchored to the Holy God. 

Jesus tells us to store up treasures in heaven and that when we do, many of our worries and anxiety will disappear.  What a gift it is to seek first the kingdom of God.

Jesus exposes our desire for the honour and glroy that comes from men.  This is ultimately of no value compared to the treasure that comes from heaven.
