Fast forward to 2013 and she was thriving with her cancer in full remission, thanks to what she described as a whole foods diet and enemas. She then launched a wellness app, “The Whole Pantry,” pushing alternative medicine and food, becoming an overnight celebrity, and winning awards from top brand like Cosmo and Apple. Named Apple’s best food app of 2013, it  came pre-loaded on the Apple Watch, ultimately leading to a best-selling cookbook and one of Australia’s most epic falls from grace.

On November 5, 2019, shortly after the murder of her husband, Charles Vallow, Lori Vallow married her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, just weeks after his wife died suspiciously at home. After a several month-long missing persons investigation into the disappearance of her two children, Tylee (16) and JJ (7), their remains were found burned, mutilated, and buried in Chad’s backyard. Dubbed the “Doomsday Murders” by the media and charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder, Lori Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell were convicted on all charges, and sentenced to three consecutive life terms, and the death penalty, respectively.

After getting kicked off of YouTube for forcing her son to sleep on a bean bag in the basement for seven months, Ruby Franke ultimately joined forces with Jodi Hildebrandt to rebrand their style of discipline and obedience to Moms of Truth, where they continued to market their new brand online. Then Ruby joins Jodi’s ConneXions platform as a mental health coach and people actually paid for their life coaching. Despite facing up to 30 years in prison for pleading guilty to multiple counts of aggravated child abuse, their website is still up and running to this day, with Jodi apparently still charging $180/hr for a one-on-one Zoom session.

Fake-diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma three days after having a new baby, Amanda Riley became an online sensation after sharing her journey with cancer and motherhood in her online blog. After several, terminal, then reversible, then terminal again, diagnosis, Amanda’s close friends and family became suspicious. She came out publicly with Stage III blood cancer in 2012 after first claiming to have only four months to live in 2010. She then said it had progressed to Stage IV cancer the same day she found out that she was pregnant again, this time claiming the pregnancy was actually reversing her cancer. WTAF! After racking up over $100,000 in donations, her former friend, Lisa Berry contacted investigative producer, Nancy Moscatiello in an effort to expose her cancer fraud. Their investigation ultimately led to the IRS and federal wire fraud charges resulting in a guilty plea to serve five years in prison for her cancer con. But is “Scamanda” Riley mentally ill as her psychiatrist suggests? Or is she just a grifter trying to pull one last con?

On February 19, 2013, twenty-one year-old Canadian college student, Elisa Lam was found dead, floating face-up in a water tank on the roof of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles, California. It started as a missing persons case when elevator footage captured her on February 1 acting erratically on camera. LAPD searched the building and the roof with K-9’s but did not manage to find Elisa or any trace of her at that time. In the coming weeks hotel guests would complain of low water pressure and black water coming out of the faucets, causing a maintenance worker to inspect the water tank, where he found Elisa dead. Ruled an accidental drowning with bipolar disorder as a contributing factor, the official story doesn’t ring true with Andy and Amanda who break it down for real this time, in their second take on the mysterious death of Elisa Lam.
