29-year-old Fort Myers Police Department Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller was shot in the head by Wisner Desmaret, who allegedly stole the cellphone and ran from police on Saturday July 21st, 2018. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday July 28th, 2018.

The Bell Tower Shoppes will host a benefit concert for the family of Officer Jobbers-Miller on Thursday, August 23 from 6-8 p.m
Funeral:
A viewing will be held Sunday from 4pm-9pm at Gendron Funeral Home, 2325 East Mall Drive, Ft. Myers.
The viewing is open to the public.
A full honors funeral ceremony will take place Monday, August 6th at noon. The ceremony will be held at Germain Arena. 
That service is also open to the public.
