On August 1, 1999, two 17-year-old best friends - Tracie Hawlett and J.B. Beasley - went out to meet some friends. Missy Bevers was setting up for an early morning Camp Gladiator fitness class she taught at the Creekside Church in Midlothian, Texas on April 19, 2016. She walked into what should have been a safe, familiar space and instead was ambushed by a figure dressed head to toe in a heavy, black Police SWAT uniform. She was brutally murdered, and her body was left in a puddle of her own blood on the church floor to be found by her fitness class students a few minutes later. Even with surveillance videos of the killer walking through the church moments before the attack, the case remains unsolved today.

In July 1999, Lynette Quast Craft left her two young sons with her husband, Tom, while she went out to get groceries and run errands. Her father called the family home a few hours later to speak with Lynette, and Tom told him she still hadn't come home. He grew more and more concerned as the hours passed and decided to drive over night to his daughters home in Swanton, Ohio from Whitewater, Wisconsin. It was about a six hour drive, and he got there early the next morning. So he let himself in with his own key and fell asleep on the sofa. The next morning, Lynette still hadn't shown up. Human remains were found in the dumpster of a McDonalds in a nearby town and what police uncovered in the coming days is nothing anyone is Lynette's life expected.
