On November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot and killed six members of his family at 112 Ocean Avenue, a large Dutch Colonial house situated in a suburban neighborhood in Amityville, on the south shore of Long Island, New York. He was convicted of second-degree murder in November 1975 and sentenced to six terms of 25 years to life in prison. DeFeo died in prison in March 2021.

In December 1975, George and Kathy Lutz and their three children moved into the house. After 28 days, the Lutze's fled the house, claiming to have been terrorized by paranormal phenomena while living there.

It has also become the subject of several paranormal investigations. The hospital was sold in 2011 and converted into a low income senior living facility called Hollenbeck Terrace.

Wilson Joe Chiquito. FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the death of Wilson Joe Chiquito.Chiquito was killed sometime between the evening hours of February 14, 2014, and noon on February 15, 2014, at his residence on the Navajo Indian reservation in Counselor, New Mexico. The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. He was 75 years old at the time of his death.

Elaine Lyn Smallcanyon was a young woman who was last seen with three other individuals by her sister in Page, Arizona on December 14, 2015. There has been no contact from her since then. The group may have gone to the Black Mesa area, to Phoenix, Arizona, or to Kaibeto, Arizona.

The house was built by Sarah Winchester after her family had died. A spiritual medium convinced Sarah that the deaths in her family were part of a karma type curse on her that could only be satisfied by constantly building a labyrinthian mansion according to the wishes of the ghosts of the people killed by Winchester rifles.

Shawtae Lopez has been missing since 7/12/23 Missing from Las Cruces N.M. or Juraez Mexico. She was last seen either in N.M. or Juarez Mexico. NO one has seen her since that day. She did not pick up the money that was sent to her by her brother.

Gloria Jean King's vehicle was later found abandoned at the El Rancho Hotel. There was no sign of her at the scene. She never returned to her residence and has not been heard from again. She left behind several children. Her case remains unsolved.

Bridge invited callers to "apologize their wrongs against people without jeopardizing themselves" and promoted the service by sticking up posters in the Tribeca area of New York.The line was based at Allan Bridge's Manhattan loft and used an answering machine to record confessions from anonymous callers. Over the 15 years that the line was in operation, more than 1,000 hours of confession were recorded, with callers confessing everything from infidelity, shop lifting, drug dealing to ritualistic murder. Some of the confessions were published in Bridge's magazine Apology.

Christine Julian Julian was last seen at approximately 12:00 p.m. on April 14, 2003 at her residence in the vicinity of the 100 block of Ortega northwest in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has never been heard from again. After she went missing, her relatives suggested she might have moved to Wisconsin to live with her biological father.
Julian had worked at the Albuquerque strip clubs Knockouts and Baby Dolls. She left behind a daughter. Due her lifestyle, drugs and alcohol may have been a factor in her disappearance. In July 2008, five years after she went missing, Julian was declared legally dead
