On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was murdered in the U.S. City of Minneapolis by Derek Chauvin, a 44-year-old white police officer. They had arrested Floyd on suspicion of using a counterfeit $20 bill. Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face-down in a street. George Floyd was bleeding from his mouth and nose. He was unresponsive. 

The Pathologist's said in their report that they murdered him because of asphyxiation.

Emmett Louis Till was a 14-year-old African American who was lynched in Mississippi in 1955, after being accused of offending a white woman in her family's grocery store.

David Berkowitz is an American serial killer who murdered six people in New York City in 1976–77, plunging the city into a panic and unleashing one of the largest manhunts in New York history. Known as Son of Sam, Berkowitz was arrested on August 10, 1977, 11 days after his last murder, and was sentenced to six consecutive 25-years-to-life terms.
