Welcome to opening weekend at Murphy's Saloon - Podcast Home of the Blues. Drinks are on the house.
Every week I'll be serving up the best of independent and podsafe blues, blues rock, rhythm 'n' blues, or whatever else catches my ear.
I'm also trying to make arrangements for special permission to play some signed blues artists, so keep your fingers crossed.
• Rocket Science by Brain Buckit.
I want to apologize to Brain Buckit for not looking further for information about them before recording my show. Be sure to visit their site (linked above), and if you liked what you heard, buy their CD.
• There's More Pretty Girls Than One by Blind Arvella Gray.
Huge thanks to Cary Baker of Cary Baker's Conqueroo for giving me special permission to play Blind Arvella Gray. Arvella was the real deal, there's no doubt about that, and Cary is a true fan of the blues.
• There She Goes by Brother Love.
What can I say about Brother Love? That he's got the goods? Hell, yeah! That he rocks? Hell, yeah again! There's a reason Brother Love has two songs in the Top Five at the Podsafe Music Network. Go to the iTunes Music Store or his Web site now, and buy the very aptly titled ALBUM OF THE YEAR. All the best, Brother.
• On A Podcast by Cruisebox.
If downloads were dollar bills, the guys in Cruisebox would be wealthy men. I first heard On A Podcast shortly after I tuned in to the podosphere. Not a day goes by that I don't find myself humming the Podcasting International Anthem. Talk about an earworm!
• Play This by Dave from Chub Creek.
Chub Creek is a podcast by Dave and Gary, two Canadian buddies who grew up together, but haven't seen each other in 10 years. The music they've made available at the Podsafe Music Network is drawn from their shows. Thanks, guys!

NOTE(edited 3/13/07): If this episode is your first encounter with Murphy's Saloon, please feel free to skip ahead a few shows - the content of this episode is not an accurate reflection of what the show has become. I think I've gotten much better at it, for one thing. Audio levels aren't uniform until about episode #7. The shows are good content-wise, it's just my audio level is reeeeeally low.
