Music Crush Monday

Welcome back to the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  We only assume you are coming back to the podcast each and every week.  If this is your first trip here then welcome and you have picked a great week to join in on the fun.  This week Steve takes a chance with a shuffling of the ultimate playlist.  What are we thinking?  Well, tune in to see what happens!

So this week the shuffle worked!  It is a fun concept though of it being a totally blind episode for both hosts but nerve-wracking for Steve as he had NO idea what band or artist we would be listening to once he hit play.  Steve ends up getting a band by chance that he has some history with and is actually pretty excited about it.  Surprisingly enough, Kevin has a little history with this band as well.  What are your thoughts on the music and this band?  Reach out to us and let us know!

What did you think of this concept?  Would you want to see some more of this where it is a completely blind episode for all of us?  Steve has quite the playlist to get through so this might be the avenue to take for a while so be ready for that!  Thank you for tuning in this week and as always, we will see you next Monday!

Happy Monday and welcome back to another episode of the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  You know the drill at this point, listen to some tunes, form an opinion, and decide whether you would like to listen to this week’s artist more or not!  Simple right? Oh and don’t forget to stick around to listen to Steve and Kevin talk some music as well!

This week Kevin is showing us a personal favorite that has been featured on this podcast before.  If you have been around long enough to hear the Christmas episodes, you may or may not have heard this week’s band.  No spoilers on this end!

Kevin does mention this week that growing up he was into a lot of Hip Hop and Rap and discovered this group along his journey and it was just incredibly refreshing at the time to listen to.  It was kind of like a breath of fresh air and something that was different from what was normally spinning in his CD player.  Although it was something new for him, this group was a massive inspiration to hip hop culture and to many of the artists you hear today.  Has this week’s group been given away yet?  Tune into the episode to see who it is and hear what they are about.

Hopefully you enjoyed this week’s episode!  Do not hesitate to reach out to us and don’t forget to check out our patreon page if you want to help this podcast out in any way.  It is always a pleasure to showcase another artist but as always, we’ll see you next Monday!

Welcome back to another episode of the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  This week Kevin is up and lets the generator pick for him this week because as you know we are extremely prepared at all points in doing this podcast!  So buckle up and get ready to hear some tunes and some stories!

It was an interesting pick as there isn’t much music out there on this artist but there is plenty of information out there and it was actually the start of a wonderful relationship Kevin started with a little ol band he may reference a few times on this podcast called Silverstein.  This week’s selection is where it all began and it is a beautiful thing.

It was fun listening to this whole EP together as the gracious hosts of this podcast decided to listen to all three songs.  Which one did you like?  Which one did you not like?  Have you listened to these songs before?  We have plenty of ways to chat with us about this week’s episode, any previous episode, and of course about any topic your little heart desires.  Don’t be shy, use any and all ways to connect with us!

That is it for this week, hopefully you enjoyed the episode and if you didn’t, we can guarantee that we will see you next Monday!  Wooooo!!

Extra! Extra! Read...er...hear all about it!  Music Crush Monday releases a brand new episode on a Monday!  Ok, enough of that.  You all know what day it is and what time it is, so let’s not make you wait any longer and just get to listening to music and talking about it.  I’m sure there’s also talk about food because Steve and Kevin can only have small talk about 2 things, food and music.

Steve takes a wild swing and makes some contact but ultimately it feels like a slow grounder to third, will he make it to first??  You’ll have to listen in and find out this week because he takes the random band one step further.

Hellooooooo and welcome back to the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  We have another exciting episode for you to check out, like you didn’t already know that?!  Or else, why would you be here?  I know, I know….sounds arrogant but the truth hurts!

A few weeks back Kevin did an episode on a southern California band and it inspired him to stay on that path.  The two bands came up together in the scene and Kevin was into both of them at one point.  Also, the band image comes up AGAIN this week!  What is up with that?  Has there ever been a band you were into but their “look” kind of ruined things in a way?  Let us know that story and who that band is!  You know how to contact us, we only say it EVERY episode.  Kevin does point out one small “flaw” in the look of this band, specifically the drummer that just bothered him.  Should it be that big of a deal?  Probably not….

Nonetheless, the conversation is awesome, the music is jamming, and it is all in hope to kick off your week in a way that no one else can!  Thank you for joining us this week and as always, we’ll see you next Monday!

Welcome back to Monday where here in MCM land we have a new episode for you to listen to.  Yes, we are faithful to bringing you a band to check out for the first or 50th time each and every Monday!  Steve is up this week, you already know it is going to be good!

Steve is digging back to a band he really enjoys especially early on with earlier albums in the catalog.  Even after this band went through some member changes it was one that he was into.  It is an interesting story to hear what that member that left the band did with the music!  You’ll have to tune into this one to check out that story.  Also, the big news of this episode, does Kevin guess the band?  Does he guess the band correctly?!  The anticipation is just too much, you better hit play and find out.

Do not forget to check out our patreon page and the links to the artist below.  We will be back next week with another episode and band to check out!  As always, we will see you next Monday!

It is Monday and here is your weekly episode ready for your ears to enjoy.  It is like a weekly gift for you!  For free!  Unless you want to donate to our Patreon to help us out.  Good news is if you are interested in that there is a link down below that will lead you to our Patreon site that will tell you all about it!

This week Kevin is presenting the band and was a huge fan of this band early on in their career.  Their second album was one of the pivotal albums for him and actually would put it in his overall top 10 albums for his personal list.  Then things took a turn by their third album when they signed to a major label and their image turned a little rockstar.  Is that REALLY a big deal?  Probably not, but it kinda bugged Kevin.  Never felt that they sold out or anything but was described as a fork in the road that he just did not follow.  This band went on to have extreme success and still very relevant today and will always be a special band to him as it was someone who helped shape his musical taste.

What bands did you fall in love with just to lose touch with them later?  Reach out to us below and let’s talk about it!  Don’t be shy, we don’t bite!  Either way, if you email us or not, we’ll see you next Monday!

It’s time for the next installment of Music Crush Monday, and this week is the start of our new “segment” called “Cocktails With Sara”  That’s right!  It was talked about and the dream is now a reality.  Kevin’s wife, Sara is taking his seat this week to not only talk music with Steve but to also enjoy a cocktail.

In this fun segment, Steve and Sara make a drink that neither of them have had so get ready to hear all the sound effects of glasses clanging, ice pouring, and mint being muddled to death.

Sara also brings a fairly recent discovery of an artist that she has been super into ever since this whole crazy pandemic started.  Facebook actually suggested this artist and the video caught her attention and that steamrolled her love for the music.  Listen in on the fun, listen in to the ingredients of the drink to make it yourself as you kick back and listen to the music.  Thank you to Sara for stepping in this week but as always, we will see you next Monday!!

If you want to play along at home and make the recipe Sara brought here is what you’ll need:

10 Mint Leaves, a spring for garnish
1 ½ teaspoons of superfine sugar
Seltzer Water
Crushed Ice
2 ½ oz. of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey

Directions:

Place the mint leaves in the bottom of an old-fashioned glass and top with the sugar. Muddle these together until the leaves begin to break down.

Add a splash of seltzer water

Fill the glass 3/4 full with crushed ice

Add the bourbon

Top with another splash of seltzer, stir, and garnish with a sprig of mint.

Welcome back to the next installment of the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  We are excited to bring you yet another episode to listen to and another band to check out.  This could be a band you have never heard of or it could be one that you are very familiar with.  The question is, when you listen to it without knowing ahead of time, did you ACTUALLY listen to the song?

This week Steve digs back in his catalog and his ever growing list of bands to talk about on this podcast.  It is always fun to re-visit a band that you are and were so fond of before.  Isn’t it amazing how you can just recall so many feelings while “remembering when”?  It is also amazing how easy you can remember lyrics on songs you may not have heard in many years.

As we do each and every Monday, we have our contact information listed below and would love to hear your thoughts on this week’s music and band.  Even if you have just one sentence of your thoughts, reach out and let us know!  Let's have a conversation about it.  Thank you for joining us this week and as always, we will see you next Monday!
