Drew Silverstein is the co-founder and CEO of Amper Music which is a tool based on artificial intelligence that empowers anyone to create unique and professional music instantly. It’s a very cool tool for people who want to create music for their videos or any other application but might not know how to do it nor have the money to hire someone else to do it for them.
Having a tool like artificial intelligence that makes music-making easier and cheaper can be very valuable but can also be very disruptive to an industry that relies on composers for library music, for example.
However, technology will always make things easier and more accessible, so why should the music industry be immune to that? In fact, it never has.
It’s a super interesting topic and it was a pleasure talking to this and more with Drew and I hope you will enjoy our conversation as well.
In this interview, we spoke about:
• How AI will take over library/stock music and the lower tier of music production
• Functional vs Artistic music and how we value music
• How we can embrace and take advantage of AI in the music industry
• The fear of losing your job to AI
• Favourite books and how Drew has implemented some of them in his life
• If Amper will be able to create vocals for your projects
• How Drew views quitting vs staying persistent
• How Amper’s technology was created
• Favourite failures and the importance of failing forward
And much more
