Music With Mal

Hello Music Babes!  This week we are back with a new style of episode.  I wanted to start recognizing different artists from time to time that I personally feel are underrated.  What that means to me is their music isn’t in the mainstream spotlight like the Drake’s, Miley Cyrus’s, Travis Scott’s, music very much is.

This first episode of “underrated” is featuring one of my all time favorite rappers Andre Nickatina!  That hyphy, bay- area music baby.  We take a little look into his background and music career then jump right in with 6 clips of his music.

*TRACK INFORMATION*

1. " Ayo For Yayo" Andre Nickatina featuring San Quinn

2. " Sunny Kim" Andre Nickatina featuring Nick Peace

3. "Jungle" Andre Nickatina featuring Equipto

4. "Drug Luv" Andre Nickatina featuring Mac Dre

5. " Y-U-Smilin" Andre Nickatina featuring Equipto

6. "9 To 5" Andre Nickatina featuring Too $hort

Hey music babes!  This week Music With Mal has her first guest "Imthediana" join her in a conversation.

New York based singer-songwriter Diana Eilenberg AKA imthediana thrives on being innovative and different.  Growing up in an Italian American family, she would wake up to songs from Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Dion and the Belmonts.  One of her earliest memories is singing “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles with her Dad.  This has led her to be influenced today by classic vintage sounds and old Hollywood culture.  Her need to express herself through songwriting has been evident since the age of nine after discovering Taylor Swift.  Her battle with anxiety and speech challenges began shortly after, causing her to feel like an outcast.  Music has been her greatest form of expression through listening and creating.  Imthediana strives to share her lifelong fascination with youth and pop culture in everything she does.  Artists like Ariana Grande, Lorde, and Madison Beer are just a few artists who inspire her to be herself.  Her upcoming release is sure to be laced with dark and dreamy undertones with quirky vocals.  Her exuberant and bubbly energy combined with her jaded worldview keeps the listener engaged and curious.
