I was in love with my boyfriend who was very kind, played football, made me feel safe and very happy. Being together on weekends lifted my spirits and made me feel alive. We didn't make it to the altar, but it was liberating for about one year. It just wasn't meant to be. If you were Sebastian Maniscalco, your father told you to "get a job" when you were eight years old. Maniscalco is one of America's most successful stand-up comedians of all time, after Bob Hope. Call me sentimental, but I miss the days when Girl Scouts came to our door selling cookies: mint, peanut butter and plain. I was one of those Girl Scouts. During the summer, most of my neighbors opened their doors whenever I came calling to take orders for cookies, flower seeds and magazines. My biggest selling item was flower seeds.
