After graduating with his Masters Degree in Trombone from UC Los Angeles, Matthew Waters has become a sought after clinician, educator, and freelance trombonist in Southern California. In addition to opening for The Rolling Stones at the Staples Center and performing on the hit TV series Glee, Matt works regularly at Sea World San Diego, the San Diego Zoo, and sits in the Bass Trombone chair for the La Jolla Symphony. Past teachers include James Miller, Bill Booth, and Jim Prindle on trombone, and Patrick Sheridan in brass pedagogy.

He has additionally performed with the San Diego Symphony and Placido Domingo, and can be seen on his website at MattWtrs.com

Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad and Mele Kalikimaka!

About 20 years ago, I discovered a CD while stopping for gas at a random travel station somewhere in Georgia. All these years later, it has remained among my favorite holiday albums of all time.

It's titled "A Christmas Tribute to Mannheim Steamroller" and was recorded by a group called The Westwind Ensemble.

I've since tried to learn more about this group called the Westwind Ensemble, but nothing has come from any internet searches.

If you know anything about them, please contact me!

At any rate, I want to share the album with you. It's in the spirit of Mannheim Steamroller, and in many ways I like it better than MS.

Lij Shaw joins me on the podcast to discuss his lawsuit against the city of Nashville.

Two years ago, Lij was ordered to shut down his home recording studio because of an anonymous complaint on the city's website.

It turns out that the city of Nashville has a law prohibiting its residents from operating a home-based business where they service their clients in their homes.

You won't believe this story of being shut down and his fight to literally save music in the Music City!
