hello everyone! today is our 'create’ episode, and we are talking about the 2022 album 'Natural Brown Prom Queen' by sudan archives. We go song by song exploring the themes of home, safety, trusting the self and sexuality. throughout the episode, i also weave in tips from rick rubin's 'The Creative Act' as a starting point in exploring key ways we can develop a stronger relationship with our creative process, and in the end, i share what i'm challenging myself to this summer. have fun listen to me sing and get hyped because there so much juice that we can get from other people's art.
i hope you guys enjoy, i had so much fun preparing and recording this episode.
Album review starts at 23 minutes btw - there was a spiel about the philosophy of the 'CREATE' episodes, the creative process and 'the creative act'.
