  • Accessibility Within the Travel Industry - Interview with Julie jones - Have Wheelchair Will Travel
    One in five - amounting to over 4.4 million people - almost 20% of the population have a disability in Australia. Many of those people have the eagerness and willingness to travel but struggle to have their access needs met. People with disabilities are still subjected to systematic discrimination when it comes to travel. They face barriers that non-disabled people do not, which can prevent them from going on holiday – or at least drastically limit their choice about where to go and what to do.
    Julie Jones, executive officer and co-founder at Travel Without Limits Magazine, whose son lives with cerebral palsy joins Nadia to address some of the challenges associated with traveling with a disability as well as what the tourism industry can do to facilitate positive travel experiences for people with disabilities.

    Petrol remains the single biggest weekly purchase for many Aussie families with the national average unleaded petrol price up by almost 15%. On average, two car households in Australian capital cities are currently spending around $5,115 annually on fuel. A new CBA feature – Fuel finder – is being piloted in NSW, combining AI capability with customer’s fuel spending habits to help them find the cheapest fuel option before they are due to fill up.   • Pakistan Floods -Mr Ejaz Khan 29 - 8-2022
    The government of Pakistan has declared a state of emergency following the Flash floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains across much of the country. Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority reported that the death toll from the ongoing disaster has reached 1,033 people after new fatalities were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southern Sindh provinces. Prime minister Shahbaz Sharif called upon the international community to help with the relief efforts particularly in the worst areas badly affected by heavy rain and flooding.
    Here in Australia, community organisations are running a flood relief appeal for the victims of floods in Pakistan.
