Earlier this year, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton proposed a number of changes to the Australian Citizenship Legislation. The proposed changes have raised a number of concerns within the community and across the country. You might be surprised to find out that child abuse in Australia is quite common. Secrecy, silence and social stigma mean that abuse often goes unreported. In 2015-16, there were just over 350,000 reports of child abuse or neglect.
