As it turns out there isn't a shortage of Turkeys. If anything it's a buyers market as far as turkeys this Christmas, judging by the fact that pretty much all of the fresh turkeys in the supermarket were already reduced at 07:15 when I popped along for my bread, milk & veg.

It's amazing the impact the stories about shortages a couple of months ago have had. Because we have either (collectively) embraced frozen turkeys this year, or we have decided to give something else a bash instead, and head off potential disappointment.

Maybe then, given the apparent power the mainstream media clearly has, they could perhaps put some effort into holding the real turkeys to account and give us all the prospect of kinder, fairer and altogether more grown-up Christmas to look forward to next year.
