Funboys music has always been informed by dancefloor dynamics and the club environment. Two of the trio are gigging DJs, with club experience dating back to the nineties, and the other is a multi-instrumentalist and record producer of similar vintage. Over the years, however, the music made by this trio has taken on, at once, both a panoramic view of the electronic music landscape and a microscopic lens to the human condition affected by such music.

At times there’s an almost dystopian air of dark claustrophobia about these tracks. Restless anxiety is evoked by eerie transformations of beats and bass, seemingly disjointed synth rhythms coalescing into ferocious grooves. But despite the darkness, you can never predict when it might pitch you into warm nostalgic reverie, or memories of more innocent times.

How can this be? Maybe it’s because the music references the unexpected against a framework of the familiar. Abstract cinematic elements, suggesting an epic, even Brutalist, dimension, are woven into rhythms that fortify our frail and precious humanity.

Oh, by the way, in case any passing Stormtroopers happen to ask, yes, it’s true, these ARE the ravers we are looking for. Systems On!

Under My Skin is the debut album from IADI, released on Neo Life in 2026. Conceived as a fully integrated audio-visual work, it is a highly conceptual project that explores the increasingly blurred relationship between human intuition and machine intelligence.

At its core, Under My Skin examines a quiet reversal: humanity designs technology yet gradually finds itself shaped and reprogrammed by it. Each track functions as an imagined interface — a point of contact between emotional impulse and binary logic. The sonic language shifts between analogue warmth and algorithmic coldness, with pulsating synthesizers and mechanical rhythms existing in constant dialogue. There is no linear narrative, only a progressive immersion into a space of near friction, where technological comfort is shadowed by subtle unease.

The album opens with ‘Impulse’, a direct expression of electrical energy, the shared language of nervous systems and machines, fast, vital, and irregular. ‘Axon’ extends this signal outward, erratic and restless, leading into ‘Cortex’, where melody and memory surface as the cerebral core of the record’s first movement. A sudden shift follows with ‘Reflex’, a fractured, zero-temperature techno track built on instinctive reactions, vocal fragments, breaks, and restarts.

This tension dissolves into “Neuron”, the emotional center of the album’s second half, offering a moment of calm amid the surrounding intensity. As the nervous system relies on connection, ‘Synapse’ reinforces this idea musically, continuing IADI’s balance between function and feeling. The experimental “Static” suggests ordered chaos, before ‘Dreamstate’ closes the album in suspension, a liminal space between waking and sleep, where consciousness fades and vision takes over. Under My Skin is neither dystopian nor utopian. The machine is not an enemy, nor merely a tool, but an intimate presence that amplifies desire, fear, and imagination. The result is intelligent dance music stripped of excess: less noise, more sensation. Electronic, yet profoundly human — a record that speaks to the present while sounding like an X-ray of the future, capturing the moment when humanity and technology begin to merge, track by track.

Högt I Tak’s Church Mix lives up to its title — resonant organ lines swell and echo through a cavernous,

cathedral-like space. Majestic and immersive, it pulls you to your knees, hands clasped tight.

Jay-son delivers a trademark, no-nonsense primetime cut, driven by a sharp 303 line while pushing the

low-end firmly into old-school electro territory. Direct, propulsive and razor-focused, it’s built for when the floor is locked and the pressure peaks.

Rounding things out, long-time Paisley Dark ally 10:40 — with the label since day one — offers a deeper,

more spacious rework of the original. Stripped back and celestial in tone, it drifts gracefully into the

late-night hours.
