Built between late nights, independent parties, and years behind local projects, the EP slips between energetic house, sharp breakbeats, chopped samples and restless grooves. Opening cut “Ready” wastes no time — heavy kicks, amen breaks, vocal snippets and straight dancefloor pressure from the jump. “Her Curls” and “I Guess” push deeper into warped mashups and fast-moving rhythms, pulling familiar fragments apart and stitching them back together at full speed.

Closing things out, DJ OJ flips the final cut into a bass-heavy roller driven by his signature low-end touch — no giant kick needed, just pure movement.

Plastic Girl feels like a collision point for this Florida connection: sweaty, playful and constantly in motion, loaded with broken rhythms and late-night energy from start to finish.

RFDC reaches its third release with a statement that perfectly reflects the label's musical identity. Since its beginnings in Barcelona, Retro Future Disco Club has been building a community around house music in all its forms, connecting soul, disco, acid and contemporary club culture through a shared love of groove.

For RFDC 003, the label welcomes Glasgow's own Big Miz, a producer and DJ whose catalogue has become a fixture in modern underground house music. Across three original cuts and a remix from Breezy S, the EP captures the different shades of the sound that inspires the collective.

"I Need U" opens with an uplifting, bouncy energy driven by bright keys, infectious rhythms and an unmistakable sense of movement. "Acid Roller" shifts into a more playful territory, riding a fast-moving acid line that balances euphoria and dancefloor momentum. On "Die Yuppie Scum", the mood turns deeper and more underground, embracing a rawer acid aesthetic while retaining the warmth and musicality that runs throughout the release. Closing the package, Breezy S reinterprets "Acid Roller" through his own club-focused lens, stretching the groove into a longer and more hypnotic journey.

House, disco and acid have always shared the same DNA. Taking charge of the first solo release of 2026 on Phuture Shock Musik is iconic Detroit producer John Beltran, serving up an exquisite double shot of summery, percussion-laced jams entitled - ‘Coquito’ b/w ‘Piragua’ - both of which are rooted in deep house, Afro-Latin and hip hop influences.

Having risen to prominence back in the early 90’s with his debut release (‘Aquatic’) on Carl Craig’s seminal Retroactive imprint, Beltran has spent the last thirty-plus years, via multiple guises, crafting and exploring everything from techno, ambient and IDM to D&B, Latin jazz fusion and balearic downtempo. Noted for his melodic and emotive-rich signature style, his prolific and incredibly diverse output remains to be of a consistent quality, and has featured among the esteemed catalogues of Delsin, Peacefrog, R&S, Ubiquity, and Good Looking records, to name just a few.

Here the Michigan native shores up on Phuture Shock, helming the eleventh missive in the Bristol label’s ‘DUBZ’ series, with two masterfully-crafted productions that exemplify his highly versatile approach to creativity. Leaning towards familiar Balearic territory and sun-splashed with global influences, Beltran’s latest effort is built for dancefloor settings and headphone listening alike, whilst also keeping with the genre-bending spirit of both artist and label.

Side A of the record hosts the cowbell-laden rhythms of ‘Coquito’, a breezy slab of Detroit house beaming with soulful warmth and feel-good vibes; combining flickering keys, dubby low end and warm lingering synths, over lively percussive patterns and 4/4 kicks with a carefree bop that’ll transport you straight to the balmy heights of summer. On the flipside is the summer night bliss of ‘Piragua’, an altogether downtempo affair with a sprinkling of Afro-Latin meets West coast flavours, where samba-tinged percussion shuffles beside low-slung hip hop beats, complete with jazzy piano chords, emotive strings and atmospheric ocean waves, evoking a smooth mix of Brazilian saudade feels, balearic relaxation and Motor City swagger.

Sengiley Wax presents the third installment of the Russian Series — Finetune's "Impulse" album by electronic musician and media artist Mikhail Komisarov ( @michaeldop ), co-founder of @slowdance.

@finetunesounds is a project through which Mikhail explores and experiments with a sonic palette encompassing ambient, electronic music with elements of jazz and neoclassical. His medium combines modular synthesis, acoustic instruments, field recordings, and deliberately crafted effect chains. He creates distinctive compositions that guide listeners through various emotional states.

The "Impulse" album brings together ten tracks of experimental electronica: hypnotic synthesizer sequences, polyrhythmic structures, cinematic textures, and subtly shifting modulations blend into sonic landscapes where time becomes relative.

The album's visual identity is based on the multidisciplinary neuro-performance "Impulse," created at the intersection of art and neurotechnology in collaboration with neurovisualization pioneers NeuroLab, digital art studio STAIN (working with algorithmic abstraction since 2009), and physical theatre project "Dancing in the Dark" — Russia's only company featuring visually impaired artists.

During the performance, the brain activity of visually impaired dancers was captured in real-time via neurointerface and transformed into generative graphics. This visual content, born from electrical impulses of consciousness in moments of musical perception, became the foundation for the album's artwork — both static and motion graphics.
