Author of the soundtrack of the documentary "Les Délivrés" by Thomas Grandremy, the reference of electronic music Maxime Dangles extends his composition work with this album. The alienation, stress, struggle and hope of the documentary's protagonists were his sources of inspiration. The soundtracks of the journey of these bicycle delivery men have been transformed into tracks to carry the struggle of Damien, Clément and Yoro further and continue to denounce the excesses of capitalism. A work that poetically extends the poignant and necessary work of the director, with an impeccable and immersive sound design, enamelled with dialogues from the documentary.

The result is nine tracks between ambient, IDM and electronica, exploring the story from all angles and feelings; from union demands and the struggle with "Affrontement", an incisive track inviting reflection to raw and metallic sounds or "Révolte", on the borders of destructured club music and IDM; from hope to dreams with the contemplative and deep "Velibre", “Matin Bleu” and "Liberate" or the melodious "Vitesse"; anguish and disillusionment with "Operate", the melancholic "Matin Rose" or the experimental and immersive "Mauvais Rêve", punctuated with the voices of the documentary.

A militant sound narrative of great finesse, affirming the richness of Maxime Dangles' production work and his ability to draw singular landscapes from which strong emotions emerge, following in the footsteps of Hans Zimmer, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' original soundtracks, while exploring the most experimental side of club music.

'Les Délivrés' LP will be available on vinyl and digital February, 17th on Lifeguards - a new sub-label of Astropolis Records, and Maxime Dangles will premiere his new live show at Astropolis l'Hiver February, 11th alongside Kittin & The Hacker, SPFDJ, Volition Immanent, Infravision or Zohar. Profits will be donated to French association Utopia 56: The vinyl will be distributed by Bigwax and all profits will be donated to Utopia 56, a humanitarian association that helps exiled people and anyone in distress in France. Since 2015, the association has been present in Calais to provide emergency material aid and denounce human rights violations and police violence, and through numerous actions throughout France. The association provides emergency aid on the ground for vulnerable people, particularly unaccompanied minors, through outreach activities, distribution of food and shelter. Maxime Dangles entered the electronic music scene 15 years ago, with a first release on Kompakt. Throughout his career, he has made his mark on the Bedrock, Skryptöm and Herzblut labels and remixes big names of the electronic scene such as Moby, Green Velvet, Simian Mobile Disco ou Kittin & The Hacker. The 2010s mark a turning point in his career.

Swedish producer Ivan Berggren, aka Paresse, returns to Eskimo Recordings with Meat Robots, an underground house number whose acid bass lines and ricocheting percussion will have even assembly line robots jacking as it builds to a hypnotic conclusion. The track was inspired by Berggren's wrestling with the age-old question of just what we are, simply biological machines running on electrical impulses and chemical reactions, or vessels filled with some ineffable spirit.

Following his EP release on Adana Twins' TAU label, Meat Robots gets the remix treatment from sometime label mate Radial Gaze. For his 'Inner Vision' Remix he has transformed the original's jacking acid into a hypnotic house number, a pulsating bass line bubbling along underneath a looping, twisted synth melody that worms its way into your head just as the track's relentless beat will take over your feet, a mesmerising combination and perfect for losing, or perhaps even finding, yourself on some smoke filled dancefloor at 3am.

With releases on labels like Eskimo, Frau Blau and Correspondant, and collaborations with artists such as Titiyo, Paresse's small but perfectly formed discography that's draw upon the sounds of electronica, dub, Italo disco its easy toes why his records have found favour with DJs from across the musical spectrum from Yuksek and Jamie Jones to The Organism and Phillipi & Rodrigo onto the likes of Purple Disco Machine and Ewan Pearson.

Sp@sms aka Arno started tape music in the early '80's and evolved to electronic music. First as the EBM-duo Voltage Control (2 EP's and one CD-album on Antler) and later as one of the first techno-artists in The Netherlands with some EP's on Djax-Up-Beats, as part of Random XS and Urban Electro and solo as Spasms. He turned away from techno to more experiMental stuff on his album 'Fuzzy Logic' and migrated to the German Mille Plateaux-label which released the award-winning AeroSon and two tracks on compilations.

He has worked as an editor and producer for Dutch National Radio 1,4 and 6 on which he hosted his own radioshow called Folio.

Currently he composes in 5.1 surround and (as the one-man company Tape TV Productions) edits, mixes and masters all kinds of projects from the no-budget fine art to high profile and cutting edge multimedia.

Also he works as a media artist worldwide.

Samuel Rohrer’s newest solo album, Codes of Nature, shows the artist making yet more refinements and additions to an already rich catalog of musical ideas. Though he has excelled in collaborative projects with Ambiq, Ricardo Villalobos, Max Loderbauer, Tobias Freund, Oren Ambarchi and others, it is fascinating to experience him also working in a field completely his own, yet managing to still give the impression of being fully integrated or connected with a larger musical universe. A strange, intriguing ambiguity between the specific and the universal is indeed what makes Rohrer’s music worth playing on a loop – the cool, downtempo, yet energized constructions on Codes are powered by subtle atmospheric and tonal changes, and work like a camouflage adaptable to any environment.

As mentioned at the beginning here, this is a record whose strength derives from its versatility. It’s clear that this versatility of sounds has been inspired by a commitment to positive differentiation that is not just a musical one, and that’s where this work will inspire others in turn.

Starting the year with our VA series “Oddness” loaded with more weirdness and rarities. For Volume III we have on board a bunch of new and outstanding artists such as: Nick Hanzo & das molekuel, JGR, Ruksby, Second Gate and Ambrosia.

With “das molekuel” Belly Dance Services mastermind Nick Hanzo and his partner Geraldine have the goal to let molecules sparkle through electrifying music. Their new track 'Blaetterwald' is like a leave that gently starts to dance through marvelous Indie Dance lands, followed by gentle pirouettes until finally turning into wind like energy that never stops moving.

JGR (Julián García-Reyes) makes his Bonkers debut with 'Awaken'. The Chilean producer and DJ based in Madrid brings us a track that mixes elements ranging from new wave to electro, combined with nostalgic melodies that recall musical landscapes from the second half of the 80's.

Rising producer from Moscow Ruksby presents 'Numeros' it will fill you with a signature groove, a little dark, but not evil, at medium speeds, with a pinch of brutality and notes of decadence.

Inspired by the heat of the Mexican desert, barb wire and rusted walls, Second Gate delivers 'Frontera' his artistic vision of a hostile environment through synth stabs, powerful basslines and a creeping ambiance made out of live samples and granular synthesis. This one’s an EBM Monster designed to bring chaotic energy and a psychedelic feel to any dance floor it is played in.

Closing the VA, rising from the Pacific of Mexico, Ambrosia is the artistic name of Alexis Ramírez, an electronic music artist from Puerto Vallarta. He delivers 'Into Your Soul' with a dark touch and a hypnotic sequence, with flashes of melancholic overtones, ideal for opening the dance floor, with this track we conclude our third edition of Oddness.

DJ Rocca is a producer and musician. He started to produce in late 90s working on some drum&bass and breakbeat singles as Maffia Soundsystem from the same name club in Italy, where he was the main resident DJ. In his career DJ Rocca has collaborated with Howie B, Pressure Drop, Zed Bias, Dimitri From Paris, Chris Coco, Daniele Baldelli and Jazzanova producing singles, remixes and albums for some of the best European labels as Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, Classic, Rekids, Skint, Hell Yeah, Rebirth, Internasjonal, Futureboogie Recordings, !K7, Deep Freeze, Tirk, International Feel, Defected, Skint, Gomma, Rotters Golf Club, Faze Action Recordings.

DJ Rocca works with Dimitri From Paris and Daniele Baldelli. With the legendary Dimitri From Paris he has given voice to various projects: a new electro-disco act entitled “Erodiscotique” with an album on Japanese “BBQ” label, four huge EP’s on “Gomma” and “Hell Yeah” records, various remixes and some tracks included in two compilations respectively entitled Knights Of The Playboy Mansions, mixed by Dimitri From Paris and Bob Sinclair, and Back In The House, mixed by Dimitri; both compilations are released by Defected records.

With Daniele Baldelli, DJ Rocca has released two albums, “Podalirius” in 2012 and “Quagga” in 2017, in addition to some 12″ on “Is It Balearic?”, "Rogue Cat Sounds", “Nein Records” and "File Under Disco". With the award-winning jazz musician Franco D’Andrea he has formed the Electric Tree Project, a contemporary music trio, hovering between jazz and electronics, with a double album released in April 2016 by Parco Della Musica Records, defined as record of the month for the magazine Musica Jazz (June 2016). The collaboration with such a great name of the jazz scene, moves on with the realization of an octet and the production of a new album entitled “Intervals I” and "Intervals II", recorded live at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. As a producer, DJ Rocca is also part of Ajello (with Taver), Supersonic Lovers (with Marcello Giordani) and Crimea X (with Jukka Reverberi). He has remixed big names such as Oliver Koletzki, Luke Solomon, Blaze, Isolee, Pete Herbert, Bjorn Torske, Chris Coco, Dimitri From Paris, Andrew Weatherall, Justin Robertson, Soul Clap.

DJ Rocca also runs his own label: “Danny Was A Drag King” and releases music for artists like Ajello, Supersonic Lovers, Luminodisco, Verdo, Marcello Giordani and Hard Ton. In 2010, with the project DJ Rocca and 5th Suite, he reached the top of the dance charts in Brazil, with the huge track “Party Bobba”.

A long time Dj, producer and sound engineer Azaria has been building a solid reputation for releasing underground beats on labels like La Belle, Rotten City, Roam or Nein to name a few.

Here we have another example of his studio crafts and wide sonic palette: From the hypnotic and eurobeat flavoured “At The Gates” to the intricate and psychedelic “Time Waits No Man”. From the euphoric detroit influenced pads of “Upside Down” to the dark, sleazy and mechanical groove of “Do Or Die”.

Berghain/Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara gives the original “At The Gates” a fantastic cosmic disco retouch.
