It's Christmas time also for ex-best-rugbyman-in-the-world Dan Carter, crowned champion of Japan just a hour before we entered in the studio...

Hi everybody ! No MUTEKI live on air on FM this week ! Instead, Leo and I have prepared a 1-hour mixtape, which, as alwas, is centered on 1 specific topic related to japanese culture. But don't get it wrong: Girls are definitely as powerful as boys !

Hi everybody ! Animes, train departure melodies... or even both at the same time ! LEO brings us back to the magical musical landscape of the famous Hayao Miyazaki animated movie "The Castle in the Sky (Laputa)", with an extract made to bring back strong feelings in the memory and tears in the eyes (and Joe Hisaishi is very good at it). Meanwhile, DAMIEN takes us to these train stations that pay tribute to animated movies and series via their "hassha melodies": wanna take your morning train with "Doraemon", "Astroboy", "Gundam" or even Disney's "The Little Mermaid" as outdoor music ? This is possible in the Tokyo megalopolis ! And at last, two tributes: one musical, to the Visual-kei band KAGEROU, and the other one to the now-defunct radio station Superloustic, which was (and surely will remain) the only french radio station dedicated to children. Mata raishu !!

Hi everybody ! No MUTEKI live on air on FM this week. Instead, we have made a 1-hour mixtape, and today we're gonna end our trilogy dedicated to the years in '8' ! How Japan sounded like 10 years ago ? X JAPAN was returning, Ghibli's PONYO was on her cliff by the sea (and on the silver screens), DIR EN GREY was back with a brand new album, and SOUL EATER was among the fresh anime on a TV landscape already full of successful shows such as BLEACH, GINTAMA or NARUTO SHIPPÛDEN. In 2008, the most popular anthems were sung by ANGELA AKI, GREEEEN and MR CHILDREN, while ARASHI was ruling the Oricon charts and EXILE, behind their perfectly polished A-sides, were actually quite keen on experimenting some duets with hip-hop artists. 2008 was also the year when an African-American singer, JERO, tried to make it in the very retricted world of Enka (and would go on publishing no less than 6 albums in the next 5 years). And 2008 was also the year that saw NO MORE HEROES being published throughout the world (December 2007 in Japan, actually), a video game which soundtrack's lead single was already well-known in France, as a young TV station for geeks called Nolife was airing the song's video over the past 6 month. Have a nice musical trip ! Mata raishu !!

15- NOZOMI OHASHI & FUJIOKA FUJIMAKI - Ponyo sur la falaise - Gake no ue no Ponyo

Hi everybody ! No MUTEKI live on air on FM this week. Instead, we have made a 1-hour mixtape, and today this one will get you back to 1988 ! This was a time when idols, boys bands and synthetizers ruled the musical world, and HIKARU GENJI were the one on top of all that, a band whose backing dancing crew would eventually get their chance into the spotlights, the following year, as SMAP... Meanwhile, the queen of idols SEIKO MATSUDA was facing a whole lot of challengers, from fellow celebrity Miho Nakayama to newcomer SHIZUKA KUDO. On TV also, CITY HUNTER and SAINT SEIYA were among the main series on screen, the latter also had its momentum on the silver screen, with a movie taking place in Asgard. The film was so successful that the producers went on creating a whole season in the land of the knights of Odin ! ... 1988 is also a great year for the video gaming industry, as Sega unveiled its powerful Megadrive/Genesis console, and Nintendo launched (the same year !) a second episode of Super Mario Bros in the US and a third one in Japan (we, in Europe, would have to wait for that one until late 1991 !). And, last but not least, some new faces & sounds begin to get out of the underground musical scene in 1988 : The VISUAL KEI bands, with X (JAPAN)'s first album "Vanishing Visions", but also BUCK-TICK's first mainstream success and first award (Best New Face) at the Japan Record annual ceremony. Mata raishu !!

Hi everybody ! Kawaii & Battlefields in MUTEKI this week, but not at the same time : First of all, we talk about Japan's involvement in the First World War, as few people know that the Archipelago fought alongside the French & British armies and navies (and briefly occupied Siberia). Then, let's get the balance right after these war stories, with some cute & sweet Idols, as some train & metro stations in Tokyo (and its surroundings) pay tribute to their famous local singers and bands via their... train departure melodies !! And in the playlist, JEHANNE introduces a rock band whose name sounds pretty poetic in our ears : SILHOUETTE FROM THE SKYLIT. Mata raishu !!

2- SILHOUETTE FROM THE SKYLIT - Unsheated

Hi everybody ! Some anglo-saxon mood this week on MUTEKI ! We add some Blue to the usual Red-and-White japanese colors : LEO talks about last week's COMIC-CON in Paris. He also tell us some Rugby stories about the BRAVE LUPUS from Fuchû, in the Tôkyô Prefecture. 'Lupus' meaning 'Wolves', let's hear the iconic opening of the anime WOLF'S RAIN sung by american singer (and long time friend of the famous composer Yoko Kanno) STEVE CONTE. America is also included - many times - in the chorus of DA PUMP's latest single, logically named 'U.S.A' ! And finally, Groove is definitely the best way to mix Japan and the english-speaking world, as Alpha from LE GROS TAS DE ZIK proves once again, by adding some SIRUP into the playlist. Mata raishu !!

Playlist:

1- MASAKI SUDA - My Hero Academia - Long Hope Philia

2- DA PUMP - U.S.A.

3- SUMIKA - Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai - Fanfare

4- SIRUP - Loop

5- HIKARU UTADA feat. NARIAKI OBUKURO - Tomodachi

6- STEVE CONTE - Wolf's rain - Stray

7- KOKIA - Tail Concerto - For Little Tail
