However, their efforts also caused division among the people of the city, with some siding with the Jews and others with the apostles. When an attempt was made to stone them, they fled to nearby cities and continued to preach the gospel. God is the maker of kings, and he took this king out. Worms ate him. Josephus documented this account. It took 5 days for him to die.

Acts documents the progression of the church. The work of God is moving forward. Nobody can stop it and it is foolish to try to do so.

An angel comes and a light shone in the prison and struck him on the side and rose him up. That’s quite a way to startle someone to be awake.

Peter has to be told instruction by instruction on how to get out of prison.  The Bible tells us that Peter thought he was dreaming.
