Comic books have been known for killing off beloved characters and no other genre is more notorious for this than superhero comics. The Academy Awards have given out honors to all kinds of films over the last 91 years since it’s inception.  Dramas, comedies, war films, westerns, romances, musicals and animation.  Horror and fantasy films have also had their days in the sun, although few and far between,  and even a few Science Fiction films have garnered nominations in the top categories.

But when it comes to Award Season the dirty word at The Oscars is...Comic Book Movies.
