Comic books have been known for killing off beloved characters and no other genre is more notorious for this than superhero comics. It doesn’t matter if the death is for dramatic effect, almost all superheroes and villains return from the dead. What is the point, then? Why should we care when a character bites it in our favorite comic book? Is it all a part of some cosmic plan crafted by publishers or Is Death Meaningless In Superhero Comics?

The Academy Awards have given out honors to all kinds of films over the last 91 years since it’s inception.  Dramas, comedies, war films, westerns, romances, musicals and animation.  Horror and fantasy films have also had their days in the sun, although few and far between,  and even a few Science Fiction films have garnered nominations in the top categories.

But when it comes to Award Season the dirty word at The Oscars is...Comic Book Movies.

At least until recently.  Comic book based films have become a genre all on their own and are becoming increasingly harder for The Academy to ignore.  Get ready to look at some Comic Book Films Snubbed At The Oscars!

This will change things…FOREVER!

What was once the epic climax to a building story arc in a solo or team book has now become a cash grab from publishers. And the worst thing about these “massive events” is that they either have a great start, but a weak ending, OR, the repercussions of the event are wiped away a few months later to build up to the NEXT major event!

We at My Big Fat Pull List are about to throw ourselves in front of the deadly laser blast, sacrificing ourselves to save YOU from Comic Book Event Fatigue! (Don’t worry, we’ll be resurrected before this intro is done.)

Why are there so many commonly used tropes in comic book stories? They’re awesome when they work, tolerable when you see them coming and cringeworthy when they flop. On this episode of My Big Fat Pull List, we’re going to examine just a few of the good, the bad and the Commonly Overused Tropes In Comics!

Some comic book characters need no introduction. They’ve been around so long or have gotten so much media attention, just seeing an image of them brings thoughts of their origins, their greatest victories and most crushing defeats. Then there are those characters that came and went, but left an impact with a few readers. Either due to their bizarreness or their uniqueness, these few characters have left a lasting impression on us. And the rest of the world must know how great they are!

This episode of My Big Fat Pull List, we’re turning all our searchlights towards one person. A mutant. A hero. An X-Man. Let's look at Maggott during our Most Wanted!
