    Hello and welcome to My Big Idea, an ASOS podcast giving young women advice and inspiration to start their own businesses. This week Danielle speaks with Faran Krentcil, former Editor of Fashionista and now Editor at Large at Elle.com. Faran was the digital director of NYLON Magazine and a contributing editor for Page Six Magazine in the New York Post and has worked with New York Magazine, the New York Times, and Teen Vogue. Fran attended Duke university, where she was a columnist for the school paper, after which she did a brief spell in the PR world before settling into journalism. Faran has interviewed stars from Kristen Stewart to Vivienne Westwood and, during her college days interned with Jane Pratt. Through internships, Faran began attending fashion week shows and writing columns for the publications for which she worked, growing her career to become the renowned fashion journalist she is today. Faran speaks to Asos editor Danielle Radojcin about how she began her career and her tips for aspiring businesswomen. This is Faran's big idea.

The fun, vibrant styles created by Sophia and her team are similar to the decor of the salon, covered from head to toe in colour, patterns and decorative art. The salon has become famous for its recognisable styles, and has been featured in a range of media including Glamour, Grazia, The Evening Standard, The Metro, Asos, Huffington Post and Urban Outfitters.This is Sophia's big idea.

Our host Miranda speaks with Carol Deeney, Co-founder of Scottish inspired Market pop-up and permanent East-London Cafe, Deeney's.Deeney's was founded in the Summer of 2012 by Paddy and Carol. Carol was born and bred in a Scottish café and has spent her whole life cooking tasty food for the people around her. So she packed in the 9 to 5 office life and now does what she loves, full time.Carol began the Deeny's journey selling food in popular London markets, an example being Broadway market. Her haggis sandwich 'the Macbest' soon gained a cult following, inspiring her to expand the empire and open Deeny's cafe in Leyton. The cafe serves the famous haggis toastie, alongside a healthy selection of breakfast dishes, soup, salads and cakes.Through Deeny's, Carol aims to deliver delicious, wholesome and often underrepresented Scottish meals to the people of London, all while staying true to their Scottish roots.This is Carol's big idea.

    Hello and welcome to this week's episode of My Big Idea, an ASOS podcast. Our host, Asos Editor Daniele Radojcin speaks with art curator, Niamh White.Niamh White is an independent visual arts curator and consultant. She has curated a broad range of exhibitions for museums, institutions and galleries, and is a visiting lecturer at various universities across the UK in the fields of art history, collecting and exhibition making. She also runs an art consultancy offering advice to individuals and companies in building outstanding collections of contemporary art. Niamh is also co founder of Hospital Rooms, an initiative that commissions contemporary artists to renovate mental health wards in NHS hospitals. Hospital Rooms works with artists such as Nick Knight, Gavin Turk and Assemble. The aims of the Hospital Rooms project are to; create new, aesthetically pleasing and thought provoking artworks or installations in the Trust that go beyond pictures on the wall, engage patients and staff in the development of each installation to instill a sense of pride in their environment, programme a series of tailored workshops where patients can develop their own artistic practice and to establish the Trust as an innovator and forward thinking health care institution.Niamh has also started the Denton's Art prize, a competition aiming to support diverse and dynamic artists as they embark on their careers.Needless to say Niamh has been making waves in the art world. Our host Lucinda Greasley speaks with the founders of Career Girl Daily, an award winning online destination for young, career-minded women. Career Girl Daily is the creation of two girls who decided to work together and create an online lifestyle guide for young, career-minded women. They loved the idea of talking with other women about their careers and goals in life, but in a more ‘feminine’ way. Now a team of three ambitious girls, they cover the lifestyle of female entrepreneurs, career women and young girls at the beginning of their career.The site was founded in 2015 by Beth, Lois and Celina. Celina came to the realisation that she wanted to pursue a career in fashion after going to university to study law, an option she thought would be a 'safe bet'. She now has a degree in International Business Administration, and is a certified personal stylist. Celine and Lois were inspired by their previous career adventures and by Emma Watson's famous speech to start Career Girls Daily, 'a place where Career Girls in heels come together'. Lois did a Bachelor in Law, specialized in Business Administration and Marketing after leaving school and, afterwards decided to move to London and do a Master in PR. Now Lois works as a community manager for large brands and manages Career Girl Daily. Beth studied English Literature at university and whilst there, launched a digital magazine showcasing young creative people’s work. Lois now is a part of the Penguin Random House Writers’ Academy and is working on refining her first novel.The three's goal is, through Career Girl Daily, to empower women and motivate career girls to chase their dreams.This is Career Girl Daily's big idea.

After finishing her degree Anna set up @MyChicCity, an online London magazine. She won a spot at London Accelerator in Shoreditch. Soon after Anna realised that office generated content was not the way forward. She thought that a city blogging platform would be a much better way to share insiders’ knowledge and works on Urbello began.Users are able to post articles about anything from food reviews and new boutique openings to art events and food markets, enabling tourists and newcomers to cities to experience them in an authentic and exciting way. Urbello has now become a popular tool for tourists to find out the best places to visit when on holiday, aside from well known tourist locations and is growing daily. This is Anna's big idea.
