I have a treat for you!  Today you will be hearing Lee Silverstein's Cancer Story.  If you are not familiar with Lee, he is the creator and host of the We Have Cancer Podcast.  I'm pretty sure, we was the original Cancer Podcast out there since he created it back in 2015.  Thats right he has been doing this for 6 years and over 179 episodes!  Lee shares his story and his journey through Stage 2 and Stage 4 Colon Cancer.  He talks about how he kicked scanxiety, how his outlook on life and living with cancer has evolved over this past 10 years.  Lee provides valuable advice for our listeners whether you are a caretaker, a cancer survivor, a family member or someone directly effected by cancer.

Yay for a Bonus Episode!  

It is September 1st and it is Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month!  For those of you who know me, Thyroid Cancer is the type of Cancer that I had.  I am so honored to introduce Chloe to you.  She is an amazing young woman and also is a Papillary Thyroid Cancer Survivor.   Chloe is a lovely young woman with quite the cancer story.  She is a voice for the cancer community and a great resource for those newly diagnosed or dealing with the long road that is being a cancer survivor.  Chloe is the Creator of Thycan Survivors and the Fifty Percent Podcast and doesn't show signs of slowing down!  Chloe was one of the first accounts that I found on IG after my cancer diagnosis and to this day, I still use her as a resource!  She is an amazing woman with the best heart!

"Cancer is not just happening to our body" -KC

This week you will meet cancer advocate and mother, Rosaria.  She hales all the way from Boston, MA.  She is telling her son Brody's story with us today.  Her son, Brody, was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma when he was only 23 months old. He suffered through numerous scans, infusions, and more before he lost his battle at the age of 3 in 2015. During his fight, she felt lost and had difficulty connecting to therapists who did not fully understand my situation.

Enter Rosaria creating her Podcast in 2019, Living With Scanxiety so her listeners can connect with people who understand people like themselves — people who understand the anxiety and heartache.

This week, you will meet Peyton.  She was diagnosed at the young age of 22 with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.   As a newly minted college graduate, she was set to move to Arizona for a new and exciting job opportunity.  Upon notable weight loss, she ultimately decided to take her health into her own hands and advocate for herself amongst not being taken seriously from doctors.  She was so motivated and highly proactive with her healthcare and was determined to survive her diagnosis.  She did her research and found many avenues to help her quality of life and ultimately survive.  Although she is a young woman, she is incredibly intelligent and really an old soul.

National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

This week you meet Sarah. She is an IBC cancer survivor. She is a wonder and sweet woman and a wealth of knowledge on this very rare type of breast cancer. She shares how she found her cancer and her bad ass survival journey! 

Finding this group in the beginning was a lifesaver, since it was during the pandemic there were not in person meetings or retreats, but I was able to join the slack group for support, and join the virtual meetups.

This was a great resource Sarah, the internet is scary, and the statistics she found for my type of cancer were terrifying, and found out later that it was outdated by 10 years, so a lot has changed. This website offered a source of hope, there are survivor stories, and patient resources, learning tools, etc.
