God cannot use ministers who have not been processed. Reading Hebrews 11 acquaints us with the sacrifices necessary to faithfully serve God. It took the Apostle Paul approximately 35 years of hardship and suffering before he could finally write: “I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"

Brother Singh stresses that sin is the cause of God’s judgment. Controlling or managing the environment is impossible because God permits nature to rebel against humanity’s sin. Fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, and tornadoes are not in man’s control. God holds His people accountable for their conduct in the land within which they reside. When entering the Promised Land, “the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, ‘Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do, and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.” (Leviticus 18:1-4).

Mississauga Gospel Assembly was blessed to have Brother Peter Abreo visit us from his assembly in Vasai, India. Previously he visited us in 2017, following participation in the Des Moines Iowa convention led by Bother Glen Goodwin, as he did on this occasion. Two and a half years ago, Brother Abreo lost his beloved wife and helpmeet Vijaya to cancer. The pain of his loss is still evident when speaking to friends in the Body of Christ.

 Brother Singh’s empathy is profound: “You do not know the troubles Brother Abreo has endured. Some Christians believe that accepting Jesus frees them from all their problems.” But reality dictates something much different. “Every man called by God to the ministry will experience the negative hand of God working in their life, for without trials and tribulations, a minister cannot be perfected.”

21st Century idolatry is vastly different from that Israel often pursued. For instance, they literally worshipped a golden calf (Exodus 32) and Baal, a Canaanite god (I Kings 12). Idolatry today is exceptionally subtle. We may not bow down to graven images, but we defy the Lord our God by placing other gods before Him. These “gods” are so enmeshed in our modern lives that we don’t consider them objects of our worship. They range from our employment to our homes, from education to our children. Brother Singh stresses, “Anything that takes our commitment from serving God fully is idolatry.”  Spiritual idols are seldom evil. Instead, they are valid interests given the wrong priority. We justify our haphazard service to God because of our job or family commitments. Or perhaps we rationalize missing services because of the hectic pace of modern life. God sees all our distractions as idols we choose to serve before Him.

Encouraging the saints in our assembly, Brother Sam stresses that he no longer wants to play church. He has tasted the power of God in his life. Thus, he intends to be led by the Holy Spirit, making every life decision by “casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Religious traditions and our own thoughts can be a trap for the enemy to exploit. Reiterating Wednesday night’s theme, “Praying Prayers vs. Saying Prayers,” our elder emphasizes talking to God like a child talks to their earthly dad. Jesus said, “Men ought always to pray and not to faint.” Our prayer language should emphasize simplicity, focusing on specific needs and intercessions coupled with faith to produce results.

Brother Singh cannot over-emphasize our need for prayer. It is lacking in our personal lives, assembly, and fellowship. The church today is powerless as a result.

 The role of a called man of God is to preach a gospel concerning LIFE and DEATH. Brother Singh’s message is meant to save people from eternal death. All a person needs to do is search “My Gospel @ Desmond R Singh” in their browser to access these God-inspired messages.

God used his servant, Desmond Singh, to deliver a critical message to our assembly today. The Body of Christ desperately needs the power of God—a genuine outpouring of the Holy Ghost. In our assemblies today, we see fakery compared to the power of God that fell at Pentecost. When the Spirit of

Brother Vid and Brother Sam combine to encourage the saints despite the negativity and evil present in our world. Watering Wednesday’s lesson, “To Live the Word,” the elders emphasize putting the lessons we are taught into practice by doing, not just hearing them. As elect believers, we must confirm God’s calling by ensuring that our lifestyle reflects our sincerity. Incorporation of the lessons actively develops the virtues necessary to guard against stumbling in our spiritual wa;l and helps set an example that leads others away from sin.  In this way, the Apostle Peter assured us that the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be abundantly provided to us.

If we regard the Bible as God’s lifestyle manual, we quickly realize scripture is intended to be lived, not simply preached as some idyllic principle to guide us.

 It would be tragic for a person to sit in our assembly for years yet never learn to incorporate the lessons we are taught. Principles govern every aspect of human existence. Walking benefits our health— if done properly — it might be the only aerobic exercise people need. Similarly, King David wrote:
