Brother John's example of faithfulness for over four and half decades encourages longtime saints in our assembly to remain steadfast. Likewise, the Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy: "Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and faith unfeigned" (1 Timothy 1:5). Paul warned against pursuing myths and endless genealogies which promote speculation rather than the stewardship of God's work,  anchored in faith. The goal of instructions from the ministry is to develop love from a pure heart, clear conscience, and sincere faith. Unfortunately, some stray from these ideals and turn aside to wrangle over empty talk!

The question arises: “If a child of God has a sin problem they cannot overcome, will they be forgiven?”  Brother Singh asserts that if one is truly a child of God, we can overcome every sin habit! We can live free of sin in God’s strength (not our own). “In all these things, we are more than conquerors through {Christ who} loved us” (Romans 8:37). When the drives and motivations of the flesh are dealt with, the filthiness of our spirit needs cleansing. We conquer fleshly desires naturally through avoidance and denial, but spiritual contamination requires God’s help.

If ever there was a time when faithful men, called by God, were needed, it is today.  Evil and sin abound. Despite the condition of the world—despite the social, economic, and political strive—there is a decline in church attendance. People find it convenient to do everything else but serve God. And yet, scripture records, “when God’s judgments are here on earth, the people in the world learn righteousness” (Isaiah 26”9). Yet, historically, the genuine work of God remains small and separate from the momentum of apostate Christianity. As a result, men of God often labor alone in obscurity.

Brother John encouraged the assembly that we are in the right place, at the right time, to receive the word of truth. God is dispensing "meat in due season" through this ministry, giving His people the instructions we need for today. The world is facing dilemmas it has never previously encountered—chaos and evil reign, except in the house of God. We can have confidence in God because of we have confidence in Brother Singh and the example he sets. So, whether we face adversity or prosperity, we can rest assured God is in control. There is peace and shelter in the midst of the storm. 

The establishment of human traditions causes iniquity within the church, presenting "a form of godliness that denies the power thereof: from such turn away!" (2 Timothy 3:5). Jesus confronted the scribes and Pharisees with their hypocrisy. "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore, ye shall receive the greater damnation" (Matthew 23:14).  Pretense in prayer" is the cornerstone of this lesson. Too often, we pray with ulterior motives rather than beseeching God. If I pray in such a manner as to cause someone to feel an emotional response, I am 'praying' to please myself. Such efforts do not reach the ceiling, let alone the throne of grace.

A mother's womb is a metaphor for the Body of Christ. To produce overcomers, the church must be a controlled environment, free of contamination. The building is not the church. The people constitute the church, and God places demands of discipleship on us to create the environment He expects. "She {the church} brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne." This passage describes the Bride of Christ, the 144,000 overcomers. The church must measure up to God's standards to produce the bride. The Apostle John wrote: "There was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein" (Revelation 11:1).

Watering Br. Singh's message on "Developing Spiritual Discernment," Br. Sam emphasized that the Holy Spirit must touch both the preacher and the hearer to spark God's life into our lives. Discernment enables us to know good from evil and error from truth.  It is a gift from God, not something we can achieve through human intellect. Jesus said, "If you continue in my word {my teachings}, you are truly my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)

Every modern preacher claims to be anointed and to have the Spirit of God. Yet, modern Christianity is awash in apostasy. For example, consider the hundreds of denominations and sects all claiming to preach the truth despite having fundamental disagreements of doctrine! Preachers can be very sincere yet sincerely wrong! 

Brother Singh contends that an uncalled preacher with a Bible is more dangerous than any terrorist with a bomb wrapped about his body! Of course, the terrorist will kill himself and a handful of people. But, on the other hand, the false prophet may destroy the souls of tens of thousands!

Today, more so than ever, the church needs "able" watchmen. Speaking prophetically, Jesus said of our time, "But as the days of {Noah} were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:37). People went busily about life oblivious to the laws and warnings of God, just like today! They "knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall the coming of the Son of man be" (v.39). The ark was a physical vessel designed to deliver those in it from the world's destruction. So in our age, Christ's church is our ark. The church is meant to save God's people from worldliness. But our boat is sinking under a spiritual flood of sin, worldliness, paganism, and false doctrine.

Watchmen are called to the "sound of the trumpet," warning people of pending judgment. (Ezekiel 33:4)
