Rita Monte and NCC Student Zac Turkel talk with Darren Dione Aquino, the CEO and founder of ADA. 25 years ago, he founded his non-profit organization, which advocates for disabled American veterans, police, fireman, and families. He has been defending and advocating for the disabled ever since. Our main topic today is Darren’s latest labor of love, his newly published book, The Seasons of Emma, about a little girl who has special needs and struggles with her disabilities.

Bill Horan and NCC Student Zac Turkel talk with Shantay Carter, a Registered Nurse, The Founder of Women of Integrity Inc., and author of Destined for Greatness. Over the years, Shantay noticed that many of our young girls were often lost and misguided. The young girls in our community were often lacking the support or resources to empower and educate them. That’s where Women of Integrity Inc. comes in. Shantay will be talking today about her organization, the upcoming Prom Dress Giveaway event on April 21st, 2018, and her book, Destined for Greatness.

Bill Horan and NCC Student Sarah Albertson talk with Barbara Dershowitz, M.Ed., CAGS, CMP, a certified change management professional in private practice in East Meadow, NY. She is also an author and public speaker in the field of practical change management. She talks about her new book, “The Secret Life of Change: 21 Flash Reveals About Change and Managing Change in Your Life or Organization.” Barbara will be talking about change and how we can move with it positively or run away from it. The choice is ours. But it the end, whatever that change that impacts us is now the new normal.

Kayla is the President of the H.O.P.E club. They talk about the new club on campus and to bring awareness to mental health and comfort for those who may feel alone.

The foundation’s goal is to empower children to live a healthy life, channel their energies through various sports and inspire the next generation of leaders to reach their full potential in life.

Bill Horan along with NCC student Zac Turkel talk with Bob Shanlin, a resident of North Bellmore, who is not officially announced as of this date to run for New York’s 4th Congressional District election in 2018, but plans to. The incumbent heading into the election is Democrat Kathleen Rice, who was first elected in 2014. Bob is a retired corrections officer and feels he is qualified to run for the New York’s 4th Congressional District located in the eastern part of the state and includes a portion of Nassau County.
