Agnosticism, at its core, is not a denial of the divine, but rather an acknowledgment of the limits of human knowledge. It is the honest admission that we do not know, and perhaps cannot know, the ultimate nature of reality or the existence of God. For generations, the Black experience in America has been inextricably linked with faith, particularly Christianity. To question or step away from this deeply ingrained tradition can feel like a radical departure, a severing of ties, or even a betrayal of our heritage.

For Black History Month we reflect on the profound evolution of black spirituality in America. The legacy of black spirituality stands on the shoulders of giants, with a rich history of a resilience.   Black spirituality in America has been a dynamic force, deeply interwoven with the cultural, social, and political fabric of both the African diaspora and the broader American narrative. Despite facing systemic racism, cultural appropriation, and the commodification of Black spiritual practices, Black spirituality has shown remarkable resilience. It has adapted, maintained its core values of community, resistance, and redemption, while also embracing new forms of expression and worship.

This month, is spiritual abuse awareness month and we are highlighting this deeply important issue that is often-overlooked. Spiritual abuse inflicts profound wounds, leveraging faith and doctrine as instruments of control and harm. 

This episode is dedicated to unraveling these layers, sharing knowledge, and providing a platform for those whose voices have been marginalized. It’s a call to rethink the ways we understand power, control, and faith within spiritual spaces.

Together, we can deconstruct harmful paradigms, elevate the voices of those who have suffered in silence, and foster a culture of accountability, advocacy, and restoration.

Deconstructing the concept of ultimate evil or Satan requires deep introspection and a willingness to challenge our ingrained beliefs. When exploring different philosophical and theological perspectives on this question, it can help us understand the roots of our own beliefs about evil. The concept Of ultimate evil often personified as Satan has been a powerful force in human history, shaping our understanding of morality, justice, and the very nature of reality. However, in recent years, there has been a growing movement to deconstruct this concept,  challenging its traditional interpretations and exploring alternative perspectives.

There are a merit of factors of why people are leaving and saying F' Church. People are disillusioned with things like the inconsistencies between the church's teachings and the behaviors of its members/leaders. People feel judged, excluded, or made to feel unwelcome. Dogmatism and rigidness with teachings that are overly strict or inflexible, that often alienate individuals who seek a more open-minded or progressive approach to faith. Simply put the church's teachings and practices are outdated/irrelevant to the challenges and lived experiences of people today.

As it relates to the human brain, the human body relative to sex and sexuality,  the fundamentalist Christian framework towards sex and sexuality is most harmful. The framework is often counter to any clinical evidence based understanding with little to no awareness to how the body works as it relates to human physiology and sex. The framework and approach are often theologically flawed, even worse, counterintuitive to the human agency. Psychologically harming to the human psyche. Christian purity culture is proof of these realties.  Tune in Family!

Mental Health Awareness Month is an observance held every May, which aims to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues. It serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health and the challenges faced by millions of people worldwide.  By raising awareness we can improve the lives of those affected by mental health issues and create a more compassionate society.
