Recorded on Martin Luther King Jr Day - this My Kind of History episode focuses on Thomas Clarkson, a pastor turned civil rights organizer who became the figurehead of the movement to end the slave trade. Clarkson worked day and night to shift public perception against the slaving industry, and in his efforts to shut it down, he was nearly assassinated. 

In this episode, Adam discusses the fight to end the slave trade - the story of the first global social justice movement. He discusses the economic underpinnings of this vile trade and the people brave enough to bring it to its knees. The first episode of this series focuses on Granville Sharp, a forgotten abolitionist who single-handedly kicked off the British Abolition movement.
