Time to begin to look at the foundation our culture has created.... one root in shame..... What if we begin to re-root into the idea of original goodness. That, when each and every one of us was born, we were the core of goodness in need of tenderness, love and care.... in need of Goodness, not because a threat "be good or else", but because "Goodness" and Love and Beauty are truly our core and what moves us forward in life..... hope you enjoy!

Our next best, or healthiest guess....

In a culture of numbing out and scrolling, instead of "snap out of it", I began saying "snap into it!", as in, snap into your life, into the moment, into things that speak to your curiosity, not to "live to your potential", but to simply connect to your humanity! SNAP INTO IT!

Todays episode is a reflection of the broth of "culture" verses the broth of love, of our humanity. I'm riffing off an idea by Dr. G (Dr. Gabor Mate) and his book, The Myth of Normal, which I really need to get my hands on to read! .... Thanks for tuning in!

A quote about creating ourselves rather than destroying ourselves struck a chord in me the other day. It got me thinking about the times in life where I was being destructive towards myself and how important it was to pause and start to practice "deconstruction"/"reconstruction", instead. There are days that are so super shitty and there always will be, AND there are all the days in between where we can hopefully enter practices that help us to connect to our hearts and begin to realize that "you" are "the one" you needed all along, hand in hand with everyone else, no longer needing a certain something or someone to make you "okay" or "whole".... beginning to live your life rooted into who you are rooted in love and cherishing the rest as a bonus (or grieving losses that may (and will) arise)..... I also recognize that I am very privileged to have had the "space" and finances/help to be able to practice moving towards healing alongside counselling. I do not take this for granted and hope to be a healing presence within our world. I also would like to say that this should not be a "privilege" this is something every human should have.

In todays society "Power" can be viewed as a "bigger is better and ability to control all the things" fest! In my life, I have begun to see the need to shift my story and belief to what "Power" really is! I discovered the gentleness and curiosity in Power and I discovered that my "Power" is in my practices of loving who I am and practicing how I am telling the stories of my life...... when I get stuck in story spirals of anger and pity, I hand over my joy, my power to a story on repeat in my mind machine..... it's a humbling moment to realize what is needed is tears and grieving and reclaiming how I am responding to my life.... that "power" was found in my gentleness and compassion, not in loudness and control.... Welcome to episode 11 where I talk about the idea of "somebodyism".... we live is a culture that teaches you are only "somebody" if you can do this or that or the other thing and that some "somebody's" are more important than others, but, Beloved, it's not true! You already are "Somebody"! and so is everyone else!..... following your curiosity and seeking experiences may help you build and discover who you are, but it will not make you more "somebody"! No matter the amount of "likes" on a post, or recognition, before those stories, you are already someone!.... teaching that some "somebody's" are more important than others is teaching a story that is so harmful to so many people.... You are already Somebody..... start there, Beloved!...
